Wheelie Wednesday - My New Sweater

Hi everybody! It's me, Autumn!

I spent my days in the gardens and my nights knitting while mom, dad, Maggie and Mitch were on Nantucket! I rumaged through mom's wool trunk and found lots of red yarn and a little bit of green too so I thought that a Christmas sweater would be a perfect choice!

And now to try it on and see how it fits!

hummmmmmmm the neckline is a little bit large and my flower petal hat really doesn't look appropriate with a sweater! I think I'll need to knit a wool cap to match!

What do you think, Maggie? Does the pullover look okay or should I have knit the cardigan pattern instead?
I'm getting the idea that you don't like it! Oh well! I did have a good time knitting it! Maybe it will fit one of my friends better than it fits me!

You have to see this tomato that I discovered in the garden yesterday! It looks like fat wings, doesn't it?!

Dad's friend, Jan, gave us these seeds a few years back! They're heirloom tomatoes that Jan calls Father Lou, after the man who shared seeds with her! It's a plum-like tomato, not too juicy and it makes the best fresh tomato sauce!

I guess by now everyone has heard that I spazzed when I heard about Mango's wheelie brother, Hector being dognapped and then listed on ebay to go to the highest bidder!

We did hear back from Detective Joe Stains and he seems to think that it's a cloning matter! We do intend to rescue Hector-Farley and have an in-depth conversation and find out exactly who he is and where he came from! I'll keep you updated on this front for sure!

See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

Movin' On Up

Hi everyone! It's me - Mitch!

You all know that my bedroom was in the laundry room where I was gated at night and my crate door was left open! I love my crate! It's my sanctuary!

Nantucket has changed all of this! While we were there I had run of the house and I was a good boy and didn't damage ONE THING! Mom and dad decided that I needed to be rewarded and trusted further for this great behavior! I've now earned the right to sleep upstairs with Maggie and mom and dad!

This is my new bed - BROWN - much better than PINK, don't ya think?! Mom also bought me a new blankie! You should see the one downstairs in my crate! I love chewing and sucking on the corners of it and it's pretty well shredded but mom continues to keep it around! My new blankie came with a free squeaky bone pillow and I haven't destroyed it yet!

My bed is on one side of dad's dresser and Maggie's is on the other! She has one of those fancy orthopaedic mattresses cause she's an old lady with old bones! I've come upstairs a couple of nights and pretended that I was going to sleep in Maggie's bed and mom sets me straight from the start! She tells me that this is your bed, Mitch and this one is Maggie's and there will be no switching! Maggie also has neat stuffies in hers and sometimes I grab one and take it but mom always rescues it and puts it back where if belongs - in Maggie's bed! Maggie doesn't really care that much that I take her toys but mom does!
At first it was odd to come upstairs seeing as I've always slept downstairs but I'm getting used to it and I actually like it! I think I feel more a part of the family now because I get to climb the stairs with them at the end of the day and crawl into bed!

It's a little strange still going downstairs early in the morning because I want to race Maggie down but mom doesn't want any playing on the stairs - ever! She's afraid someone will fall and get hurt!

Thanks for letting me sleep upstairs near you, Maggie! I really like it!

So until next time................

Yer friend,

Mitch

Oh My doG!

Mom was surfing ebay last night and look who she discovered! It's Hector, Mango and Dexter's wheelie brother!

Was he dognapped? How did he get on ebay? Someone from the mid-West is selling him so they must have nabbed him and high-tailed it out of Mango's yard FAST! They've also changed his name from Hector to Farley to cover their tracks!

We've already told Autumn and she is just beside herself! She's told mom to buy him at any cost! Money is no object! The sky's the limit!

So why hasn't Mango blogged about Hector being missing? Is Farley an imposter? Is he a clone? There are just too many unanswered questions! I think we might need to hire Joe Stains for the job!

Reporting live from Northford.............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

Another Birthday Pressie

I had another birthday pressie come while I was on Nantucket! My birthday is seeming like it'll never end and that's a GREAT thing! It's from my buddy Stanley!

Check out the awesome card with Stanley running! I wish he was running to visit us and planning on staying awhile but he doesn't have any backpack with him! We could sure have a lot of fun together, Stanley and dad will be only too happy to include you on all of our hiking and ice cream trips!

OMG, whatever did you send me, Stanley! She is too cute! I'm afraid mom is going to take her away and keep her all to herself! She hasn't stopped laughing!

Her name is Henrietta and I see Mitch has already taken quite a liking to her! Why does this not surprise me!

Whoa! Check out this treat! This is my kinda treat, Stanley! Don't even begin to ask, Mitch, because the answer is NO! This is MINE!

yummmmmmmmmmm - duck breast treats! The package smells delicious! Can you help me open this up right now please, mom?!

Are you listening to me, Mitch? Henrietta is MY toy from Stanley! I'll share some duckie breast treats with you, okay? Come on, give her back!

You said we had a deal! You can let go now!

Thank you very much, Stanley! As you can see, your gifts are a big hit at our house! Everybody wants Henrietta! Boy, being 10 years old sure is fun!

So until next time....................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Natucket - The Final Days

This one particular day dad found a parking spot at the A&P grocery store! It's hard to find available spots there because you can park for 2 hours without fear of getting your tires marked and receiving a ticket! As we were crossing the parking lot to head to The Hub to get dad his daily newspaper, Mitch spotted an apple that someone had dropped! Mom told him that this was his lucky day and she was certain that someone had dropped it there just for him! Sure, mom!! *major eyeroll*Mitch was carrying the apple around and had huge drools dangling from his mouth and he looked very scuzzy! Who would want to pet him looking like that! While dad was in buying his paper Mitch decided to eat his apple, thank doGness!

We headed for the docks to have a look at all the fancy boats! Mom wanted a picture of these pretty flowers and look who had to be in the picture taking a pee! ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Dad and Mitch are discussing which boat Mitch would like to buy for dad for his birthday! There were sure a lot of choices! There was actually no bad choice! hehehehe

We passed by more pretty flowers while we walked around town!

I wanted to go inside lots of shops but mom wouldn't let me!

This one has some really neat stuff, mom!

This is the Scrimshaw shop and this guy really wants us to come inside! Please say yes, mom!

That night dad took us to Star's for ice cream!

This was our view while dad was inside getting us ice cream!
We almost died when we saw the size of the dish of ice cream dad came out with! It's a swirly dish with half vanilla and half chocolate! The ice cream was towering 6" over the top of the cup! Dad was very generous sharing ice cream with us that night!
Thanks, dad! This is mighty good stuff!
Mom even shared the end of her cone with me!
We had a blast! Nantucket was SO MUCH FUN but it came to an end on Saturday morning at 6AM. These next couple of shots we're on the ferry and it's pulling out and heading for Hyannis!

Once we got off the ferry and into our car to make the 3 hour drive home, Mitch and I fell sound asleep and slept pretty much the entire way home!

It's nice to be home and to sleep in our own beds and walk in our own neighborhood but we do miss the relaxing atmosphere and being with mom and dad all the time and having the most fun adventures ever! Thanks for coming along with us and letting us show you our special spot in the world.

Autumn wanted us to tell you that she is still hard at work knitting her sweater and by next Wednesday she'll be able to show you what she's been working on! We see her staring into outer space a lot - probably dreaming about Hector!

So until next time.............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

Nantucket - Too Much Fun

We met so many doggies on the Island! The first night started off kinda rough but it got better the very next day and mom and dad were VERY happy about that! I can be kind of vocal and kind of aggressive when I want to be!
This doggie's owner owned a store and he was forever coming out to greet us every time we passed by!Nantucket could never be as much fun for dad if he couldn't visit the old cemetary and see all of the old headstones! We can't tell you how many nights we went home totally exhausted! We even tired Mitch out and that's hard to do!

Wednesday night, dad decided it was time to introduce Mitch to the waves on Cisco beach! We passed by this very cool windmill every time we headed to Cisco!

Mitch wasn't too sure about the ocean when we first got there! Dad was pretty insistent that he go in!

Are you ready to go home yet, Mitch??!! hehehehe

Suddenly a HUGE wave rolled in and both Mitch and dad sorta got wet legs! Mitch wasn't too keen about it but he was a good sport and dad was happy!

My reaction right from the start was to get off the beach ASAP and get back to the car! No way was I getting wet! YUK! I didn't think Mitch got hit in the head by one of those big waves but on the ride home I saw him having a conversation with Mr. BobbleHead!

We have to tell you that Mitch had his own bedroom!
Every night when he got really tired, he'd climb the stairs and put himself to bed!

I'm sure this has to be one of the things that Mitch really misses! How many doggies out there have their own bedroom and their own bed! Mitch was lovin' this!

Goodnight for now! We'll be back with more pictures from Nantucket!

The fun continues.........................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch
