Mom and I walked the Farmington Canal Trail again. This time when we left the parking lot, we headed to the left. Last time we headed to the right.
I see a tunnel. That means we get to cross under Sherman Avenue and we don't have to deal with busy traffic! Awesome!
We found this neat boarded up old brick building.
Do you see him? In the not too far away distance is the Sleeping Giants head and tummy! As we continued to walk, our trail lead us to a busy intersection and we would have had to cross too many lanes of traffic and mom said NOPE!
So we retraced our steps and continued on for another couple of miles.
We have had very warm weather and look what I found. SNOW!
And near this stream there are yellow flowers getting ready to open.
Mom googled them and we think they're Marsh Marigolds.
Today is a beauty. Come on, mom!
What the heck is this? Our first floor neighbor, Tom, has been having fun decorating the yard ☺

Fanny Pack
We got a package in the mail on Friday~
Because mom carries her camera on walkies so much these days and because the warmer temps are arriving and jackets with pockets won't be happening for a whole lot longer, she bought a fanny pack for her camera and treats.
Hopefully, we can put that fanny pack to use today, mom!
Mom has noticed that my new American Journey chicken and sweet potatoes foodables is making me poop more. I'm a 2-poop-a-day girl and it's turning into 3, which is not a problem but mom is a worrywart and everything is always a concern with her. Naturally, mom calls on the intermuts to make sure this isn't a bad thing. They tell us to check the fiber content and that could be the reason for the extra dumpage. So here we go:
We see that the crude fiber content in my foodables is 5%
So the only down side to three times a day is that we'll be needing to buy more poop bags from Chewy and that's not so bad for all the good benefits, right?!☺

American Journey
Mom has been reading all of the great reviews about Chewy's own brand of kibble, American Journey. No, we didn't sign up to try it out. It's all of your posts and reviews that led her to make this decision.
I have been getting my kibble soaked since I was a puppy and I had to deal with AireLickies. The vet never discovered why I do this and soaking my food works so we soak my kibble twice a day and everything is good.
Little kibbles soak faster.
Mom thinks my soaked kibble smells like bacon. Nothing is wrong with that, right!
I love, love, love American Journey! I lick my bowl for 5 minutes after my food is all gone! It's THAT yummy!
And we discovered that when you order American Journey, the first bag is half price. You can't beat that! And because a 24 pound bag is only $39.99 and you have to spend $49 to get free shipping, I got a new pickle pocket and some treats to stuff it with!
If anybody is on the fence about switching to American Journey, it's the bestest!

Flower Friday
We're joining Dory today for Flower Friday.
I'm searching really hard for flowers, mom. Honest!
We scored!
We had heavy rain on Tuesday and again yesterday and the poor crocus have really taken a beating!
The poor daffies won't even raise their heads.
We found a dove near someone's mailbox with beautiful shell wings~
They're fake but they're flowers. They count, right!
Happy Flower Friday, everyone!

Another Dreary Day
We know how the saying goes, "April showers bring May flowers". I guess the flowers will be beautiful in May because we're sure getting our share of rainy days.
Thank goodness for peanut butter filled bones!
Don't get any fancy ideas about sharing MY bone!
I don't care if you call yourself the Easter bunny. It's MY bone!
I think my dreary day is going to get better once again!
Crab, mozzerella and bacon OR eggplant and black olive. hummmmmmmm
Sorry the picture is blurry. I had no idea mom was going to share such a large pizza bone with me!
I love bacon♥

The Farmington Canal Trail
Mom has always wanted to walk on the Farmington Canal Trail! This goes as far back as the Maggie and Mitch days. Yesterday was our lucky day!
Stop reading boring history and let's get going, mom!
There were lots of benches dedicated to peeps along the way in case you needed to sit and rest or to just take in the beauty and hear the birdies singing away.
And there were lots of short wooden bridges.
We looked for flowers and we are sorry to say that we didn't even find one!
One neighbor along the trail had a peaceful spot set up. The sign says, "All are welcome. Area for rest and prayer."
And just beyond, we saw this sign☺
I think we're at the base of a Christmas tree farm!
This trail goes different directions and it has parking lots in various places not far from where we live. We'll be going back soon to do more exploring.
Did you notice my second grey collar?
We decided to leave the Frontline Plus in the cupboard and give the Seresto collar a try. We keep hearing great things about it!
Mom checks me for ticks TOO MANY times a day! We can't be too careful, right!

Hitchcock
A couple of days ago, mom left me alone at home and had fun without me. She went to a place that sells used Hitchcock furniture. She said it was like being in a candy store!
Hitchcock chairs are made in Connecticut. The company goes back to the early 1800's.
Mom grew up with Hitchcock furniture! Gram and Gramp bought beds and tables and chairs there and mom has always loved them.
She came home with two kitchen chairs~
And a small desk.
She said she was going to use it to organize her bills and paperwork but she said that it looked too messy with papers sticking out of the cubby holes so she found a better use for the desk.
Black and tan furniture with Airedales☺ Brilliant!

A Wonderful Surprise
Our Friday was so rainy and dreary and depressing until the UPS man brought us a box in the afternoon! Our box came all the way from England!
It's from our friends, Miss Susie and Treacle!
We were totally blown away! Miss Susie made us a beautiful quilt in autumn colors - our very favorite season! It is so gorgeous!
And you have to see the fabric on the back. It's as pretty as the front of the quilt! We just LOVE it, Miss Susie♥
Treacle is Miss Susie's AireGirl and she loves her tennis balls as much as I love mine. Look what Treacle sent me!
And she sent a rope toy for Mackie and Jett! Is Treacle not the absolute sweetest!
Do you see what else they sent?
Across the pond, Treacle is always talking about Bonio treats. Now I get to try a Bonio or two or three or four. Yes, Treacle - I will share with Mackie and Jett. Hopefully, I'll see them before they're all gone☺
They also sent lemon and lime marmalade. Mom has only ever had orange marmalade and she loves it! She can't wait to taste this on her bagel for breakfast!
Look how big the Bonio is!
Gram's crystal pizzelle jar is filled to the top with Bonios and the box is still half full!
And that's not all Miss Susie sent. She made the cupcake mat and the tissue cover and they smell wonderful and they're just beautiful and so practical☺
And she made this fabulous bandana to go over my collar! I just love it, Miss Susie!
What started out as a dreary and not-so-fun day sure did end up quite the opposite!
Thank you so very much, Miss Susie and Treacle! What a superduper fun box this is! The two of you are so generous and so very thoughtful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts♥
Love ya lots♥
