Putter's Twinsies

We had visitors from Seattle today.  Our goodest and bestest friend, Putter's family was here! Putter wasn't able to come but she did sent pressies and her cutest ever brothers delivered them.
Putter sent Molly the red toy with squeakers. Thank you, Putter and Brady!

And Putter sent me a blue bone. Thank you, William! Molly and I love our new toys!
Molly had a blast meeting Miss Kate and Ted and the twins and running around and jumping and playing.

We had lunch in our workshop where we could spread out and after lunch, the boys got to see how much fun it was to sit on dad's Indian motorcycles!  Too bad they weren't older. They could have taken them for a spin!

Thank you so much for your visit! We had such a fun time!  Please come back anytime!
Love ya lots,

Bandana Day with the Porties

Today is the parade of bandanas and hats with the Porties!  Mom thought it would be fun this year to do hats instead of bandanas.  The color was our choice and we chose pink.

Mom was bound and determined to get a hat on Molly.   It sure wasn't easy but she succeeded
Thank goodness for chin straps~

I don't like it any better than you do, Molly, but we gotta make mom smile!
That was fun, guys!  Thank you for hosting bandana day for another year!

Happy Birthday to our buddy, Dave!  Dave is Aunt Lydia's AireSon. Dave is the one who gave Miss Molly her pink piggie!  She's still with us, Dave, and she sleeps with Molly every single night!
We hope you have a fabulous birthday and we hope you celebrate with pizza and ice cream!

Mount Washington

Our dad climbed Mount Washington a few days ago with three friends of his.
The temperature the day of the climb was 32 degrees and the windchill made it feel like it was 16 degrees - brrrrrrrrr
Yup, they had snow!
This doesn't look anything like our Sleeping Giant hiking grounds, thank goodness!
Dad said the wind almost blew him over!
His smile must be frozen in place, right!
Okay, now this doesn't look so bad!
 Look what he brought us!
We don't get to eat those, Molly. They're really for mom!
What were we doing while dad was away?
Staying warm and cozy - that's for sure.
And we were doing a lot of this kind of stuff!

We're glad you're back safe and sound, dad!  We missed you!

True Colors Thursday - Nature

Our True Colors challenge this week is the colors of nature.
That means flowers to us - lots of beautiful flowers!

Our rosa rugosa smells so pretty!
Our jack-in-the-pulpit right outside our back door~
Mom's favorites - POPPIES  :-)
Last year we had more Lupines than we do this year.  Lupine is a biennial so next year we should have even more than we have this year!
See you all next Thursday.

Ice Cream

Dad took us to Lenny and Joe's for shrimp bisque and clam chowder and afterwards we headed to Durham for ice cream.
Molly has never had ice cream before. She needs to be broken in the right way, don't you agree?
She liked it!
And I even let her sample the ice cream cone!
Aren't I the best brother to let her have my portion?
So what do you think, Molly.
I bet you can't wait for another trip to get ice cream, right?!
So until next time.............

A Poppy Collar and Marieluise

Hi everyone. It's me, Molly again.  Mitch is sure being nice to me letting me post so much. Thank you, Mitch.  You're the best brother ever!

My mom's favorite flower is the Oriental Poppy and guess what I got.   A new collar and it has poppies all around it!
I love my new red collar!
Mom and I took a walk outside and I found a pretty pink poppy that got knocked over by all of the rain that we've been having. Should I taste it?

Yesterday afternoon, mom and dad were up in Guilford for an art reception. Our friend, Marieluise had lots of her artwork there and mom has always wanted to see it in person and she finally got her chance.
Mom couldn't decide which was her favorite painting and she sure wished that she could have come home with at least one of them but it wasn't in the cards.
Mom just loves Marieluise's work!

So until next time.............

Puppy Kindergarten

Hi everyone. It's me, wee Molly!
Yesterday I had my very first puppy kindergarten class and it was fun!
Believe it or not, this is me on my way to class.  Might as well be good and rested, right?
We have to apologize for the poor quality of the pictures.  Dad was using mom's camera - the one she always uses and the pictures all came out dark so we tried to lighten them and it just isn't working very well but you can get the idea.

Mom and dad went to puppy class without me last Thursday and they came home with homework.  I have been practicing how to sit and "watch" mom and I'm doing a very good job!
This is my "down".  We need to work on me staying there and not popping back up too quickly.
After 20 minutes, my classmates and I got to go out for potty break.
When we returned to the "classroom", we got to go off-leash and run around and play.  It was sure fun!
This thing that I'm standing on is soft and squishy. The object of the game was for me to put all 4 feet on it (which I did) and you kinda have to balance yourself so you don't get dumped off.   I was successful! yeaaaaaaaaaaa
This raised platform is used in agility and we all had to jump on it and get comfy and stay for a minute or two.   I didn't have any problems with that either.
My homework this week is to learn how to "give" and share things that I might not want to share with mom and dad.

But first, I gotta roach!
I can't wait for puppy kindergarten class next week!

Love ya lots,
Molly

True Colors Thursday - Black

Our True Colors challenge this week was to find something unusual and black.

One of our Nanny's friends gave us this black cast iron antique sausage stuffer years ago.
We think that's pretty unusual!
It weighs a ton and sits in our fireplace pit. We've never used it.  Mom says she thinks it's missing the crank handle.

Molly has her feets tangled up in a black antique flat iron~

See you all next Thursday.

Love ya lots,
Molly and Mitch

Our Latest Project

Mom and dad have started another project so we're supervisors on the job again.    Our red barn needs a new roof. Dad is ripping wood shingles off and mom is on the ground picking them up as fast as they come down.
I made sure that I had a beef marrow bone to pass the time.
And Molly got a frozen wash cloth for her teething toofers.   Once again, she's acting like a spazzzzz~
She got a marrow bone too but it's an older one with no marrow in it.  Sorry, Molly.
We have sad news.  This is Gussie.  His Black Swan's wife was Myrtle and she is no longer with us.  Myrtle was very friendly and when anyone came near her, she would stretch her neck out along the ground and give you a swanny hello and welcome you to her yard.
We think she welcomed a coyote or a fox and her ending wasn't a pretty one.  Gussie misses her but he does well hanging with the rest of the waterfowl flock.  No, we will not be replacing Myrtle.
It's a horrible tragedy for such a beautiful  creature.  RIP, Myrtle.
Mom and dad Canada Goose had goslings.  One of the parents was born here and they come back to nest and raise their young every year.  Dad says he knows it's the same goose by the band on his/her leg.

Mom's smaller wisteria is in bloom - the one that didn't get damage by the storms that we had this winter.
 Lookin' good, dad!
We're off to till the garden and plant some tomatoes!

So until next time..........

Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
