Happy Birthday

Remember this fabulous gift from Auntie Lydia?

 Mom finished it about a week ago.  She said that it was the most stressful and aggravating puzzle that she has ever done but she never gave up - although many times she thought of doing so.    It was a SuperChallenge and she had lots of fun with it when the puzzle pieces cooperated with her☺

And her Gardenia gave her two blooms for her special day☺

Mom decided that I should play the cupcake-ball game (Thank you angel Hannah♥) 
There are treats underneath every single one of those balls.

 Two down and 4 more to go.   She wouldn't let go of the cupcake tin so I could flip it over and get the treats more easily~

 She kept tell me to "Take it, Molly" - which means to grab it with my teeth.  

 One more to go and no, I didn't save the bestest for lastest.   I'm not fond of the Kong squeaker ball.   It's not an official sized tennis ball and it doesn't smell right.

 I did "take it" and I did get the treat reward~

 I got them all, mom!   When can we play this fun game again?!

 This is the prettiest Dutch Iris we have ever seen!  It's so big and ruffly and it's purple!

 We found Sweet Peas!

 The Hydrangeas are in bloom~

 What a striking color this Clematis is!

 We found raspberries but we didn't eat them~

 Landlord Bob's roses are blooming too~

 And we discovered Evening Primrose blooming at Miss Dotty's house~

 And the Asiatic Lilies are blooming in front of a home not far from where Mackie lives~

 We found that the Coneflower was blooming in our own backyard!

An Early Birthday Pressie

The mailman delivered an unexpected box yesterday.  It's an early birthday pressie for mom from Auntie Lydia!

 And the bestest part is that Auntie Lydia included a pressie for ME!

We had a beautiful weekend and we were outside a lot!
Guess what we discovered was happening in our back yard.   The Day lilies are in bloom!

 I am standing in the shade of the apple tree taking a breather and guess what?

 There are apples on the tree!   They are not healthy looking and we have seen woodchucks under this tree and they're probably snacking on MY apples!

 And we also discovered that the Chinese Lanterns are in bloom and there are green lanterns already~  Mom can't wait until they turn orange!

Nature Friday

 We found white Yarrow for Phenny and Nelly!

 This peony is just opening~

 This Peony looks white in the picture but it's really a very pale pink.  

The Honeysuckle is in bloom!  Mom hates humidity and one of the only positive things that she can say about it is that the Aire, as we walk along, is beautifully scented and she can't stop smiling☺  There is no manmade perfume that can capture the true fragrance of the fabulous scent of Honeysuckle♥

 Yes, mom - you are right.   It does have a wonderful scent.    Guess what I did after I sniffed it?   I peed on it☺

 The Kousa Dogwood is in bloom~

 This is Mountain Laurel close up.  Notice the tiny puckered buds.  They open to such pretty blossoms and their one fault - the don't have any scent.   Every flower should have a beautiful scent in my mom's opinion.
