Solved By a Cookie

Hi everyone! It's me, Mitch!

I have developed a new problem! I eat my breakie at 6AM and I eat dindin at 3PM and lately I've been getting up in the middle of the night and puking bile because my tummy is upset because it's empty!

Maggie and Putter write to each other on email every single day and Putter was telling Maggie that she has this same exact problem! And she told Maggie that I can be cured by eating a BIG cookie snack at bedtime!

So a couple of days ago we all went for a ride and look what mom bought me!
Putter made it very clear that they have to be BIG cookies! Is this the most fabulous cure ever or what?!

So now each night before bed, I get a BIG cookie and Maggie gets a little one because mom doesn't want Maggie to get phat!

If any of you have a problem that needs taking care of just write to Putter and she'll contact your mom and tell her that the cure is COOKIES!

This next picture is for Herc! Herc is feeling under the weather and needs lots of healing thoughts sent his way! He was depressed because he couldn't pooh and with the help of all of our good thoughts, he poo'd! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Herc!
Maggie wants him to know that he doesn't have to be depressed about his Poodle leg because his fur will grow back in no time at all and Maggie wanted to show Herc a picture of her leggie for proof!
See, Herc - it's nice and fluffy and you can hardly even tell and Maggie's leggie was shaved to the bone on the last day of December! We're still sending LOTS of AireZen your way, buddy!

So until next time......................

Yer friend,

Mitch

  1. Yay for cookie therapy! Maybe if you puke at other times of the day your mom will give you more cookies. It is worth a try.

  2. Wow, Mitch, what an ingenious way to get a big cookie! We've got all our paws crossed for Hercules! We're glad your poodle leg has restored itself, Maggie!

  4. That's a great idea Mitch! I's gonna try see if I can get a cookie for bedtime too. I has only done that empty tummy bile thing once, when I was a little puppy and Mum got locked out the house and she had to sleep outside all night worrying about me.

  6. I'm glad that you feel better Mitch. I'm gonna make sure Mama knows about cookie cures. I may not be feeling too well right now...

    Hugs to you and Maggie.

  7. Big Cookies - that's how we'd like to cure anything that ails us. We hope our Mom remembers this one. She mostly gives us little salmon hearts for training treats, but we love them and would do about anything to get one.

Guess what??-- Mom fixed us cheeseburgers yesterday -- they were soooooo goood. We'll be posting some pics today.

  8. It is a common problem with many of us and a few months ago we talked about on my blog as many shelties suffer with this. Cookie at bed time is exactly what my doggie doctor recommended - and even better are the Old Mother Hubbard Charcoal cookies -as the charcoal helps the absorb the acid and even though they look funny they taste great!!!

  9. Sweet Mitchy Poo!

That Putter sure knows how to angle for the treatables doesn't she? Good thing you guys have been in touch with her & she could lobby your mama for the BIG cookies. (Don't rub it in to Ms. Maggsie about her getting itty bitty cookies, okay?) So, is the cookie therapy working?

Also, you may not know this but Hercy is my honorary brudder, since I stayed at his house for a week last summer when our girl went out of town. I really preciate you encouraging him with his funky poodle leg and all. You can barely tell Maggsie ever had one unless you know right where to look!

Hope you guys have a great weekend! Stanley says a big HEY.

    Goobery love & kissies,

  14. Thanks for the tip Mitch.
I'll tell my 2 brothers Puggy so they don't have to chew the blanket to knock themselves to sleep.

  15. Mitch - I have that problem too - although part of my problem is that I have a very small liver - but NO LIVER SHUNT !!!! YEAH - anyway - back to the cure - I don't get a cookie mostly because I don't like them but the good doctors at the University of Tennessee [Liver Specialists and all] told mommy to give me yummy yogurt. So I get organic vanilla yogurt before bed every night. I only get a tablespoon full because I am very small - but I really like it!!!!!!!!! Tell your mom to try some!

PS [and I still have poodle legs from when I was in intensive care a few weeks ago - but it's growing out and Doug evened em up a little more yesterday]

  16. Hey Mitch-
So, cookies are like chicken soup for doggies. I'll keep Putter's email handy just in case. Me & Checkers have the same midnight snack.. frosty yogurt treat. It's mixed with peanut butter & bananas. Yum.

Yeah 4 Poop! Yeah 4 Herc--

  17. HI Mitch,
I used to puke (not bile just ALL my dinner) but Mummy gave me a bone instead, that worked. Cookies sound a great cure for puking too. That Putter is sooo clever!

  19. That cookie cure sounds great.

I get two tablespoons of organic nataual yogurt mixed in with my dinner every evening and that keeps my tummy really well and also makes my poo a lot easier to pick up - less smelly and nicely formed (so I'm told)!! This might be too much information for you - but the yogurt really does help - the little man's mum can't risk me getting sick when I'm out working and she has found the natural yogurt remedy brillant.

Just a thought - but I'm sure the cookies are a much nicer idea!

  20. I don't know about cookies AND ice cream [yogurt] that may be just a little TOO MUCH - even for a big guy you you!!!!!

  21. Wooo, now that's a thought ... I ought to get the Chief to read this blog entry of yours and maybe she could start me on a cookie supper! ;)

  22. hi Mitch, thanks for that great information on puking bile. we do that too sometimes and our mom didn't know about it at all. she still doesn't know why we do it, but cookies sound like a good cure. cookies should be the cure for everything.

we're glad to see that Maggie doesn't have "poodle leg" anymore, but kind of sad too. we like to see pups with poodle legs and it makes us feel like they are our relatives. we need more poodles on the blogs, even if it is only just one leg!

    woofs.

  23. Those cookies are the best. My eating habits are: breakfast at 3:25am (before mom goes to work) and 3pm when she gets home from work and then I too get treats before bed. Big cookies really do the trick. =)

  24. Wow...I am feeling totally under the weather...think Putter would tell my Spokesperson that I need ICE CREAM in LARGE QUANTITIES...at least THREE TIMES A DAY or my illness might be FATAL?!!!

I'm glad you are enjoying your cookies...but, really, don't you think ICE CREAM would work better?!

  26. Oh Mitch, that is great you get a big cookie before bedtime but I am sorry you had to throw up to get there. :) Before my pawrents changed my food I would thow up icky stuff in the middle of the night too but they think it was caused by my being allergic to carrots. Now I have no carrots in my food or snacks! Plus, I eat 3 meals a day....7am, 11:30am, and 5:30pm. :) I always get a small cookie before bed too! I'm all about the food!

    Kisses,
    Nala

  34. Mitch, I'm sorry you've been throwing up bile. It must be horrible for everyone in your family. But what a fascinating post you've written. I followed the link you put in your post and also read the comments others have made. Thanks for all this information.

I love reading blogs of other dogs, not only because it's fun, but because I learn from others' experience.
