My 12th Birthday

I'm 12 years old today!

Yesterday afternoon, we had my birthday pawty.  Mom allowed Mitch and me to have our birthday "cake" in her fancy pewter bowls and on her fancy pewter tray!  I guess being a senior has it's benefits!

My birthday cake is canary melon topped with applesauce and yogurt and one of my special kidney-sparing cookies!

Doesn't it look yummy?    It tasted just as good as it looks!

We worked at the Crump barn yesterday and when mom and Mitch and I came home to make lunch, there was a beautiful cake box on our back porch.   It's a calorie-free cake and the whole thing is made of flowers!  Isn't it just gorgeous! It's a gift from our goodest and bestest friend, Putter! 

You've outdone yourself this time, Putter! What a fabulous cake! It sure does look pretty enough to eat and it smells wonderful!

Today is not only my birthday - it's also my mom's birthday! Yup, we share the same special day together and mom gets all weeping just thinking about it!

What should we wish for as we blow out our candles, mom?!

Dad promised us a special dindin and an ice cream trip soon!  whoooooohooooooooo

What a super duper birthday this is!
