You'll never guess what my brilliant mom did?
She washed and waxed the floor in the hallway!
Duh! What was she thinking?
Didn't you know that I'd go slippin' and sliding and need assistance righting myself again?
So mom decided to head to overstock.com and check out hallway rugs.
This one is 14' long and works out very well.
She had to offer me many cookies to get me to enter the hallway again after my stressful spill!
You should have come up with the hockey helmet plan BEFORE the rug, mom! It would have come in handy!
Copycat Mitch wants to be a hockey pro too! The slippery floors didn't bother him one bit.
I'm likin' the new rug, mom! I think it'll do!
Yup, I'm getting more comfy and trusting now!
It has my vote! I'm staying!
Please don't wax any more floors in the house ever again. It's too hard for this girl to stay on her dainty Airefeets!
So until next time.................
Love ya lots,
Maggie
Maggie, our Angel Java Bean had that same problem. But Mom learned something after he passed away that might help you out. He had a lot of hair between his foot pads and she read that if that was clipped out it would make a dog more stable. We don't know if this is your case or not, but it's worth a try. The rug looks super there though!!

ReplyDelete~lickies, Ludo
A new rug! That's very thoughtful of your mom. I am glad that everybody was safe and sound. You and copycat Mitch look good in your hockey helmet!
ReplyDeleteSafety precaution is important!!!
Oh no hers didn't...some peoples haves no respect fur us. Furst they wanna get rid of our feet prints by CLEANING da floors...gasp...they don't put up warning signs. Oh and not to mention placing a rug in hopes dat it'll make up fur everything they just did. But ummmmm....I is likin' da new rug and hemet is to awesome.

Wow! That was very nice of your mom to put a rug there! Our mom waxes our wooden kitchen floor. It used to be funny to watch us fly around the corner...until Penny got to be almost 12 years old. Not so funny anymore! I, Patches, still run like a maniac, but Penny doesn't do it so much anymore. BTW, we looooove the helmet idea!
ReplyDeleteAire-hugs,
Penny & Patches
Miss Maggie..we truly like the runner rug...we have a couple and we find that they make great tug toys, also, if you run really fast and then STOP, the rug is magic and will keep moving you along. Gussie is better at this than I, so perhaps you want to let Mitch try it first.
ReplyDeleteTeka Toy
We have the same problem in our new house - wood floors everywhere and mom has had to put rugs down too.
ReplyDeleteWe have the same problem in our house! Not good with my hip dysplasia so Mum has put rugs everywhere cos I was always slipping about. Glad you had no injuries, love the helmets! You look Greeeaatt!!

The helmet it great & all, but maybe mom should have put tennis shoes on you instead BOL. The rug looks comfy to lay on at least!!

Gotta be careful with those long legs... I must retrain Halle to go down the new stairs into the yard but must wait until the ice at the bottom of those new stairs is dealt with, or if we get new snow. Way too slippery for the old girl right now. We are still going outside via the garage door. All looks very nice in your hallway! xo
ReplyDeleteMy sweet Bentley wouldn't walk in the kitchen or on any floors that he thought might be slippery. This pack doesn't care. They race around and slip and slide and that's part of the fun.
ReplyDeletehi m & m!
ReplyDeleteoh emmitt wants a helmet too!
he needs one in our hallway and kitchen too!
we love the rug your mom got! it matches you perfectly maggie!
who need a red carpet for the golden globes? i htink they should get one like yours! it is just perfect!
xoxoxo

Don't they know carpets are better. Thank goodness you have your helmet!
ReplyDeleteSnuggles,
Benny & Lily
Sasha has the same problem. Why do those Moms do that stuff??? Sasha took some scary spills, now if there isn't a rug she sneaks across the kitchen floor. Making the corner is specially tricky. That helmet looks like a good idea.
ReplyDeleteThe rug looks VERY nice.

I do some slippin' and slidin' too! Glad you're OK now!
ReplyDeleteRoodles, Stuart
Way to be safe Maggie! We are supposed to get that real icy stuff overnight ... I almost always slip on the deck coming up the 3 steps we have. Maybe I should invest in a helMUT :) BOL!! xoxo, Jada
ReplyDeleteI like the look of that helmet. I could use one of those for everyday living!
ReplyDeleteWyatt
Hello Maggie and Mitch, whoa, you have tons of snow!!
ReplyDeleteWe have to say the helmet looks good on you and you actually look very cute but ... Your mom found a right solution. Paws up!
Stay warm..
Momo & Pinot xoxo
Your rug is beautiful!! We also love the look with the hockey helmet..that is cute!! We are glad mom came up with a beautiful rug for you so you won't go flying down the hall. That's not very much fun..it happened to me once in the kitchen after mom cleaned the floors really good. I crash landed into a cabinet. Lots of love, Holly and mom

Ohhh your rug looks great. We love the hockey helmet pictures too. Great post
ReplyDeleteHi Maggie, your new runner looks great. Your helmet might be useful but you look way better without it. Thank goodness for the carpet or else your mom would have had to get rubber booties like mine.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, Maggie. Slippery floors are very skeery. It was very much smart of your mom to gets you that rug. I would have to say that rugs are MUCH better than having to wear a helmet, for sure.
ReplyDeleteWiggles & Wags,
Mayzie
PeeS. Please tell Mitch I liked his MangoMinster entry. And he's right. You DO glare at him a lot.
Be careful, my friend....a helmet -- that's what I need! Maybe a football helmet with a Vikings logo on it....yeah, that's it....
ReplyDeleteOh gosh Maggie, please be careful. We certainly are pleased you have your own pawsonal rug now. Mind how you go.
ReplyDeleteMolly, Taffy and Monty
We are sure glad that mom fixed her mistake. We would have a problem with a rug, the Pest would run off with it.. No rugs in the Heeler house...

Love the rug. Mitch had real 'tude with the helmet on. Barks and woofs of approval.
ReplyDeleteI love the helmet pikhs!!!
ReplyDeleteHugz&Khysses,
Khyra
We don't have a slippery floor like that, but when we come racing in from being outside, we have to make a turn to head to the kitchen. Sometimes we get going so fast that we do a full body slide across the floor and slam into the gate or the wall:( We never seem to hear those words from the Momster "slowly, slowly". Maybe we need a nice runner like yours.
ReplyDeleteWoos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Maggie!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a bad episode with the waxed floor!
Glad your mom found the hallway rug for you!
Take care

So it's true that puppies can be stressed by waxed flooring! Bless mom for the rug.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, Maggie! I hate slipping around trying to find my paw-footing too! I'm glad your Mom got the rug for you. The helmet looks very safe too!

Oh Maggie,
ReplyDeleteParents just don't always think things through before they makes changes that affect us Super-kids.
Yer helmet looked pawsatively delightful but I'm glad ya don't need it anymore. That rug looks pretty comfy.....hope Gram saw it so she can get us one too.....

ReplyDeleteNice woooh

Maggie, I am glad you and your brother finally approved of the hallway rugs and that you were able to get past your fear of slipping on the "icy" floors! Your brother looks so cute in his hockey helmet but I hope he takes it off after awhile....heehee!
ReplyDeleteThanks for wishing me well after coming down with a stomach bug! I am all better now and you should see what I planned for everyone for my Blogoversary! Come on over if you have time!
woah! you are one hardworking mom!
ReplyDeletei can imagine you Airedales walking sloooowly over the floor. that'll be cute ;)
Maggie
ReplyDeleteI love the runner. We have them too and they save lots of boo boo's from happening.
I am happy you did not get hurt.
The helmet is a good idea

LOL! I didn't think you little ones were so bothered by slippery floors. Nigel would be terrified. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Maggie, we have that problem here when the polish the floor! Even the rugs slip - we like your crash helmet - we must get two of those.
ReplyDeleteHumans are so obsessed with things looking nice but humans with dogs really need to give up!

You look great with your helmet !
ReplyDeleteAt least the rug did the trick. Your Human should have thought about it in the first place ;-) Would have saved you some slipping....It's a pretty rug!
ReplyDeleteUmmm. We were just reading. It seems Asta's mommi has some trouble staying on her dainty feets, too. Maybe she needs some rugs like yours. With a pretty coordinated AireGirl to coach her. (You look lovely on your rug!)

Rugs are a dog's best friend. Since Penny injured her knee we've had to buy lots of rugs to help her move around with confidence.
