Mom got a Southern Living magazine in the mail yesterday. There are 3 or 4 pages of nothing but apple desserts! I LOVE apples! They are my most favorite thing to eat in the whole wide world!
Do you know what it says at the bottom of this page I'm lookin' at?

Mocha-Apple Cake with Browned Butter Frosting~
Fresh Applesauce~
I'm starving!

ReplyDeleteI have the perfect apple desert for your momma. Tell her it is REALLY easy! (A microwave one):
1 Can pie apples
10ml Cinnamon
40ml brown sugar
Crumble:
250ml Cake Flour
90g butter
125ml Brown sugar
Grease a microwaveable pie dish. Add the apples. Sprinkle Cinnamon, brown sugar and raising. To make crumble: Sift flour. Rub in butter until mix resembles breadcrumbs. Add brown sugar. Sprinkle over apples. Sprinkle more cinnamon for colour.
Microwave on HIGH for 10-12 mins.
Enjoy! (Not sure if it is suitable for doggies, but the peeps will enjoy it immensely.) Serve with ice cream or custard.

The bundt cake would be easier to scoop up in your mouth. It has a nice hole in the middle, which your nose would fit nicely through while running away with cake on snout. ;)

Every year in September our Mom gets hungry for apple pie. This year she's ready in advance. Se brought home a big bag of apples to make her pies. We're very happy because when she makes her pie, she always makes us our favorite apple peanut butter cookies. Yum! We can't wait.

ReplyDeleteApple pie is certainly very tasty. But very rarely do I get cake. Apples are very low this year. Frost in May has caused a bad apple harvest.

ReplyDeleteI love, love apples, my favorite fruit and my Sammy loves to eat what I don't eat of it. He watches me til I'm done coz he knows he's getting the rest!
We'll be having apples a lil later and it'll be nice to steal some apple recipe from your mama. Some no brainer will be great! :P
