Yesterday the Rocky Creek Scotties posted about a fake Frontline that's out there - a fake Frontline that has killed pups! If you haven't seen the article, here is the link.
This is the picture that they posted:
The imposter is on the left and the good stuff is on the right.
Mom has her Frontline box right in front of her computer screen to remind her to reorder so it didn't take her long ro realize that we have the imposter and we can say that we have had 2 doses of the imposter and it's stressful for us to wonder if our previous boxes were imposters too.
We are alive and we feel so horrible for the dogs and their families that didn't make it because of this nasty imposter.
We did not buy our box from Foster and Smith or 1-800-PetMeds and we didn't buy it from our vet but rest assured, we will be buying it from our vet from now on so we can view the box before we purchase it and the extra cost will be well worth it! We will also be sending an email to the site where we did purchase this Frontline and hopefully they will respond.
We want to thank the Rocky Creek Scotties for getting the word out there. Mom had 2 more green vials sitting on the counter just waiting to apply to our backs any day now. Thank doG she waited and and thank doG Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh, Ruairi and Ivy posted!
Please read the article and please check your Frontline boxes if you happen to use Frontline.
You can never be too safe!
Do you like our new header picture? It's a gift from JD, Max and their mom Clare.
They Sand-Script for the Crossed Paws Organization! They sent us 5 beautiful photos for only $1. The donations go directly to helping doggies and kitties in need. All of the photos were fabulous and we can tell you that we had a really hard time choosing just one!
We won't be going to Nantucket again this year and this makes us very sad but these gorgeous pictures make us very happy and it's for a great cause!
So until next time.............
Love ya lots
Maggie and Mitch
That's scary. We buy all our worming stuff from the doctors.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, kendra & Bella
Thanks for the warning! We always buy ours from the vet. It makes me wonder if the new stuff sold only by WalMart and Sam's Club is fake too! I can't remember the name of it, but it has the same active ingredient as Frontline. Have a happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteAire-hugs,
Penny & Patches
That is very scary! The muzzer called the dad yestiday and made him get out our boxes so she knew we would be OK. We hope all turns out good for you too.

We used to use Frontline, always purchased from the vet. We switched to Vectra this year after Frontline became available anywhere. We were about the safety but we had also been concerned that Phantom seemed to have seizures or weird behavior whenever Mom did an application. Although it is not documented as a side effect, there are a lot of other dogs who have had similar reactions. We are glad now that we made the switch. We guess there are some reasons to stick with the vet for purchases.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, we love your new header. JD and Max did a great job.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Oh my! Thank you for posting this! I will send the link to Jeter and Halle's doggie day care facility...they apply Frontline there. LOVE the header and also the spinning block of pictures!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLOVE the header - and we're so glad you guys didn't get sick from the counterfit Frontline! We're Advantix users, here...
ReplyDelete-Gizmo, Bart and Ruby
I sure am happy that you both did not get sick, it is sad to think that someone would do that all for green backs.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE you new header! It sure is pawsome! I love JD and Max!
woos, Tessa
Definitely good post. Spread the word

Hi Maggie and Mitch, that's not good at all. We've never had fleas and my mom and dad are always on the lookout for other nasty things. Apparently our diet doesn't have anything in it that would attract fleas.
ReplyDeleteHow awful! We have the heartworm meds from the vet, but we bought K9 Advantage plus from Petco. I hope it's the good one!!
ReplyDeleteErm... luckily, I've never had it together enough to order anywhere other than from the vet. Heck, I consider it a special, happy event when I remember to buy said supplies DURING a regular vet visit, not by phone followed by sending an employee out to fetch dog medicine. Hem.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the beach art. Will have to do something similar next time we have our toes and paws in the sand!
That is very scary! What a blessing that you are ok, but how sad that some doggies didn't make it.
ReplyDeleteJD & Max did a pawsome job on your Sand-Script & thanks for the shout out for Crossed Paws.
Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Our Mom just checked the package and we have the good stuff. It's a scary world out there.
ReplyDeleteMorgan, Tsar and the Porties
Your new header is really beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteIts very important to spread such important informations as far as possible!
love, enya
We're so glad we posted the PSA - and now you know you have the bad Frontline - that is so scary, but we know you'll be on the real thing soon. We haven't used any Frontline or anything for fleas/ticks all year because Mom hasn't seen any on us yet, but she keeps a good watch - once she does, she'll be treating all of us.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
The Rocky Creek Scotties and Ivy
Mom always buys ours at the vet - she heard of such a scam a few years ago - and she just never trusted it since then. We hope you two will be fine - but definitely don't use that again - and I would contact not only the company but the police too - they are selling an illegal and potentially dangerous medication!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information. Several dogs have died from seizures close to where we live and they are investigating what happened....it makes me wonder if it was the counterfeit Frontline. Scary stuff. I have been getting mine from an online place with no problems but now I'm going to the vet instead. Lots of love, Debbie & Holly
ReplyDeleteThanks for this info. I'll be heading over to RCScotties blog next. As soon as I get back to Idaho will check BabyRD & HOoties Frontline boxes. I do remember that they were both made in France,& did notice that HOotie's latest YEAR supply of Frontline said "SpotShot" instead of Plus.
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting us know about the FRONTLINE. That is so scary.
ReplyDeleteI love your header -- it is beautious. Can I ask you,,
do they take money in the mail to get one of these? I would like to have one done for a friend of mine.
Do you have to use a credit card?
Sorry so many questions.
love

Amazing what some people will do . Thanks for the tip - I'll go back to read the post .
ReplyDeletePhew! Glad you two are OK. What is wrong with people all making fake stuff that can hurt doggies?
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,

It's hard to believe how such things happen and I'm so sad for the affected families...
ReplyDeleteI'm totally in love with your header, the photo is just beautiful! Do share the other pictures sometime!
HOly smokes- glad woo caught the imposter! and that both you guys are ok. i've double checked mine even though it's purchase via the Vet.
ReplyDeletewith all that stress.. i think it's pizza time or at least a drive for some ice cream! ok, fish sandwich?:)

Thanks so much for spreading the word on these fake Frontlines! We never would have known...And we'll go and check out the Rocky Creek Scotties post right now, too.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you won't be going on your favorite trip this year, but our paws are crossed for next year:-)
Yes! We LOVE your new header photo!
