True Colors Thursday - Black

Our True Colors challenge this week was to find something unusual and black.

One of our Nanny's friends gave us this black cast iron antique sausage stuffer years ago.
We think that's pretty unusual!
It weighs a ton and sits in our fireplace pit. We've never used it.  Mom says she thinks it's missing the crank handle.

Molly has her feets tangled up in a black antique flat iron~

See you all next Thursday.

Love ya lots,

Our Latest Project

Mom and dad have started another project so we're supervisors on the job again.    Our red barn needs a new roof. Dad is ripping wood shingles off and mom is on the ground picking them up as fast as they come down.
I made sure that I had a beef marrow bone to pass the time.
And Molly got a frozen wash cloth for her teething toofers.   Once again, she's acting like a spazzzzz~
She got a marrow bone too but it's an older one with no marrow in it.  Sorry, Molly.
We have sad news.  This is Gussie.  His Black Swan's wife was Myrtle and she is no longer with us.  Myrtle was very friendly and when anyone came near her, she would stretch her neck out along the ground and give you a swanny hello and welcome you to her yard.
We think she welcomed a coyote or a fox and her ending wasn't a pretty one.  Gussie misses her but he does well hanging with the rest of the waterfowl flock.  No, we will not be replacing Myrtle.
It's a horrible tragedy for such a beautiful  creature.  RIP, Myrtle.
Mom and dad Canada Goose had goslings.  One of the parents was born here and they come back to nest and raise their young every year.  Dad says he knows it's the same goose by the band on his/her leg.

Mom's smaller wisteria is in bloom - the one that didn't get damage by the storms that we had this winter.
 Lookin' good, dad!
We're off to till the garden and plant some tomatoes!

So until next time..........

Love ya lots,

Happy Memorial Day

We were at Glenwood last night for dindin.  I start to whine as soon as we get into the parking lot because I know where we are and I know yummy things are served here.
Molly had her very first smidge of a French fry.
She liked it!
 More please~

We salute and thank our veteran's who gave their lives for the comforts that we have today.
Have a happy and safe Memorial Day~
Love ya lots,

The Mailman Brought Me A Pressie

Hi everyone. It's me, Molly. The mailman brought me a pressie! I've never gotten a box in the mail before!  I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do!
Mom cut the tape on the box for me and it didn't take me long to figure out that opening pressies with my name on them is fun!
Apple pie treats!  What until Mitch sees these!
Wait until Mitch tastes one!  yummmmmm
My surprise box is from Aunt Lydia, the cookie lady and Dave, her AireSon.
They also sent me this cute pink piggie that will sleep with me in my crate and keep me company.
And I got homemade treats that I'm supposed to share with Mitch.
I've never had a homemade treat like this before so I had to play with it and playbow to it and flip it.
And make crazy faces at it before I eventually ate it! It was sure good!
Did I ever tell you that my dad calls me Molly Pitcher? She was a very brave lady during the Revolutionary War.
Isn't this stamp just the coolest!  It's for my scrapbook!
And look at my adorable card.  Doesn't this pup sorta look like me?

Mitch came home from Crumpie's and immediately stole MY pink piggie.  I'm letting him know that this behavior is totally unacceptable to me!
The mailman also brought me Boomerang tags!
!
I'm an official Molly now with my very own name tag!
And another pressie came for me!
Mom says this one will keep me safe!
Thank you so very much, Aunt Lydia and Dave.  Your pressie made me so happy!  I will always remember that my very first pressie came from the two of you!

Love ya lots,
Molly

PeeMail Competition

Have you heard about the 2nd Annual PeeMail Competition that our buddies Reilly and Denny are having?
The competition is in honor of My Maggie!  Last year she and I won the fire hydrant prize!

We won't enter because we have already won the awesome fire hydrant but Molly and I definitely have to have fun with this too!

What a neat fire hydrant!   I  come outside to do peepees many, many, many times a day and this hydrant is placed in exactly my favorite spot to check peemail!

A treat for me?  Thanks, mom!
The contest runs from now until June 16th so check out Reilly and Denny's blog for details!

So until next time...........

Love ya lots,

The Cupola Raising

Hi everyone. It's me, wee Molly reporting today.  I was the one that attended the cupola raising and boy, did I ever have fun!  I was a little bit afraid when we first arrived because there were so many hoomans and so much activity.  But two nice young men said hi to me and I was sold - I just knew that they had all gathered to meet me!

This is my new friend, Shelby.  He's a 13-week old English Setter. Are you thinkin' of bopping me on my head?
This is Shelby's brother, Quinn.  He's a 3 year old English Setter.   I really wanted to play with him but the hoomans said that Shelby was more my size.
Black and tans!  These Rotties were very nice to me!
This is the cupola before the crane arrived.
The crane is here - time to get this thing hooked up and on it's way up to the sky and onto the roof!
That wooden boxy contraption just underneath the windows is going to be raised to just underneath the overhang of the roof and that's how the cupola will be lifted.
 Going up~

The cupola is being lowered to the roof.
The cupola on its new home~

I sure did meet lots of nice hoomans but I never got to eat a thing, Mitch, so trust me, you didn't miss out on anything!

Love ya lots,
Molly

The Workshop at Crumpie's

Guess what?
I got to go to my first timber frame workshop and supervise!
That's my dad right behind me.  We make an awesome teaching team!
My plan was to stay for hotdogs and hamburgers but mom had other plans for me.  booooooooooo
That's the cupola behind me that's going to be raised tomorrow.  The word is that wee Molly will be going and I will be staying all alone at home - all by my lonesome self.  Mom says she can't handle two dogs at once.  Sounds like a made-up story to me, mom!
This is Maggie. She belongs to Dave and Diane. She's a 5-month old Poodle and she has a lot of energy just like Molly does.  I wanted to play with her but she was afraid of me.  *sniff sniff*
One last look at Crumpie's barn without a cupola.  If you look closely, you can already see the hole in the roof. The crane arrives tomorrow morning.
Mom is offering us treats.  My brilliant little suck-up sissy already knows how to lift her paw.
See you all tomorrow!

Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
