Molly Is a Fraidy Cat

You're not going to believe this but Molly is afraid of an innocent basket of our chew bones!
Yes you, Molly! Don't look so surprised!

This is our basket of chew bones - nylabones and antlers.  It's been sitting in this spot next to our TV forever!
I have no problem going over to the basket and picking one out of the basket to chew on .
Mom made it even easier for Molly. She dumped the basket on its side and has the bones falling out!   Who could possibly be afraid of this?!

Are you kidding me?  Come on, Molly.  Stop being a fraidy cat!
What she does is sit in front of the basket and pathetically whines until mom feels sorry for her and gets up and ...........
Well - see for yourself.

I rest my case!

So until next time..................

Love ya lots♥

  8. Yep. We've got to agree with everyone else here - Molly's not a fraidy-Dale, she's painstakingly training your Mom, while wondering why you didn't already have your Mom trained to hand-feed you chewables.

  9. Yup, I have to agree, that is kind of odd. Some doggies just get something stuck in their brains that spins around and around and makes it impossible for them to see common sense. Momma says my Grandpa Angus was afraid of umbrellas which you might think is no big deal, but he was afraid of CLOSED umbrellas. Even those little totes ones. Even ones he had never seen open. Nonsense.

    Kisses,
    Dexter

P.S. Momma says I am afraid of Vaseline. Well, who isn't?

  11. That's a great little clip of Molly's behaviour. Penny does something similar when she has finished chewing on a meaty bone. She paces around the house, whining just like that, looking for a place to 'bury' it, and we have to go with her and say 'no' to places inside the house. We then go out to the garden together and I say 'no' to places where I have a plant that won't survive a bone being buried at its base.
I think it's indecision on Molly's part, or maybe asking for permission as to which one she should chew on.

  12. Lightning has a lot of those quirky ways too. He won't walk by a balloon or a beach ball if it is in his path to go outside. But he never turns down a chance to grab a bone from anywhere:)

  26. I don't think Molly is scared, I just think she's very sweet and wants to wait until a toy is offered to her, rather than to take one herself. She's just being well-mannered! REALLY!!!

  27. Gg won't pick up her own toys or bones OUT of anything. Sissy and Mugsy (the JRT before Gg) will gently pluck a ball bounced into a shoe or something and trot back with it, but Gretchen just looks upset and draws a human to her side to help her out.

  28. Molly,
It's okay...I used to be afraid of real antlers too. Maybe because they smell like the real animal? Anyway..I got over it. Now, I like them very much!

  30. Oh Molly - I'm just like you! I get really scared of "silly" things too - like the time I was eating and pushing my food bowl around (we were travelling and it wasn't in a stand - it was just on a chair) - and it got pushed off and flipped over on the ground. And I was TERRIFIED of it!! I was cowering on the other side of the room staring at the upside-down bowl and my humans were laughing at me!! Humph!

I refused to go back and finish my dinner until my humans held the bowl still in their hands, so that it wouldn't shuffle around.

And once, I got really freaked out by a plastic bag that was caught on a bush and blowing in the wind...

    So I sympathise!! :-)
