Baby Birdies
Mr and Mrs BarnSwallow have babies in their nest.
They tend to their family for the entire day, flying over our heads in and out of the barn where we are timber framing Miss Brenda's barn.
We don't know how many are in there but we hear them screaming for their meals all day long.
The Cleome is coming into bloom~
And so is the Lady's Mantle. Molly loves it because it's the color of her favorite tennis balls.
The Black Eyed Susan's are blooming~
And so is the Astilbe~
Have a fabulous Friday, everyone!
Love ya lots♥

Updates From the Pond
Remember we told you that Barney and Betty Barnacle laid eggs in the nesting box. Barney is such a good mate and protector.
The time for hatching was past and dad went out to the nesting box and checked on the eggs and to candle them. Not one of them was fertile.
Poor Betty and Barney. All of that work and waiting and no babies.
Better luck next year~~
These girls are Angel and Alice Whooper.
Remember we told you that Alice was inside the enclosed pen with the black swans so she could acclimate to a new situation without so many geese and swans in her face all at once. She was coming along just fine. The only iffy thing going on was Angel patrolling the fence from the other side. We didn't know if Angel wanted to be friends or if Angel wanted to kill Alice.
Dad was away one afternoon and we were inside the house. There were no warning noises happening. Angel somehow got herself into the black swan pen and basically beat the snot out of Alice.
Dad made the discovery when he got back. It was awful and we all felt so bad.
Dad made the fence higher and Alice healed and Angel continued to patrol.
One day dad decided to let Alice out of the enclosure and onto the pond with Angel. Yup, we held our breath.
They're best friends now and have been for about a month. Whew!
Twozie's feathers are coming in!
So until next time.............

Take Your Dog To Work
We are very fortunate pups. We pretty much get to go to work every single day with our mom and dad.
We're timber framing a barn/garage for Miss Brenda who lives in Maine.
There are timbers everywhere waiting to be assigned a spot and worked for her new building.
That's the timber dolly with wheels in front of that pile.. It can move timbers that weigh more than me and you put together. It's an amazing invention.
These timbers are getting their mortises and tenons. A lot of the work is done with electricity but there is also a lot of hand work involved with mallets and chisels.
When the timbers are done, they are taken outside and 5 coats of a deck treatment gets brushed on them to protect them and make them really pretty on barn/garage raising day.
Dad is belt sanding this tiger maple brace that will have a special place in the garage.
The finishing process has only begun on this brace. It has a dye on it and multiple coats of finish will be applied to make it look like a finished piece of furniture.
Uncle Phil has been working on these. We wish you could touch them. They are smooth like glass.
Break time~~
Molly and I each got a marrow bone to keep up occupied for awhile.
Yes, those are Molly's supply of tennis balls.
We're taking a break from hunting you down, Chipper, so rest while you can. We'll be back on your case soon. Don't you worry about that!
So that's pretty much what we do in our day.
Are we the luckiest pups? You bet!
So until next time..........

Bigger and Better Adventures
Dad let Twozie and the ducklings out into the enclosed swan pen area so now they can really swim - no dinky pool anymore~
Who wants to be the first one out the door? Don't be shy!
Dad loves to pick Twozie up and hug her.
Should we be afraid of those huge black swan monsters?
Uncle Stanley is watching out for us and showing us the ropes. Dad says that Uncle Stanley is a Muscovy duck. He's a rescue that needed a home.
Look - we are swimming!
We love our new digs! Thanks, dad!
So until next time...........

Poppies Everywhere
Do you like it? It's my new poppy collar.
I had one very similar when I was just a puppy.
That's my special penny with my tag. That penny was sent from angel Maggie. We are sure of it ♥
Kipper wears it now because it's too small for me.
Mom is nutty about poppies. They're her favorite flower and they are in bloom in our garden.
I love my new poppy collar!
High five, everyone!
So until next time.............

What Color is Missing
The Lupines are doing terrific this year but there seems to be a lack of a certain color.
Can you guess which color that might be?
All of the purples and pinks are lovely but do you see it - right here in the center of this pink Lupine and the ornamental Sage. The color that's missing is gorgeous sun-shiny yellow!
The seeds arrived in the mail on Saturday.
We won't see them next year because they're biennial, but we should have tons of yellow Lupines in 2016!
So until next time..............

Strawberry Ice Cream Sunday
Dad told mom that he wasn't particularly fond of certain brand of strawberry ice cream so guess who got to taste test it?
Mom wants to know how I got it on my cheek.
It dripped off your spoon when you weren't looking, mom!
Happy Father's Day to our dad and to all of the dads out there!
We hope they all get strawberry ice cream today ☺

Twozie's New Play Yard
Twozie and the ducklings have a new safe play yard for themselves.
Dad has given them their own swimming pool that they can get in and out of safely.
Sorry it's so yucky looking. We've had rain and they love poking at the ground and making mud holes.
Do Twozie's feets look abnormally large to you?
She has the longest legs!
The ducklings are losing their down and their feathers are coming in .
We have discovered that the pom-pom on the tops of some of the duckie's heads is not a good thing. The crest covers a deformity in their skulls. You can read about it here.
We know it's not a good thing but we still love their crests. They're happy little ducklings and we hope they live for a good long time~~
The wisteria is in bloom. The vine is near the swan cottage and Twozie's new play yard. It smells divine!
Penny and Margaret and their bodyguard, BubbleButt~
She is the loudest, crankiest pain in the hiney but she sure does worship the water that Margaret swims in. She's a very good bodyguard.
Happy Friday the 13th, everybody! We hope today is a lucky day for all of you!
