One Man's Trash.......................

We went for our walkies this morning - same time - same route as usual.   One of our neighbors had interesting trash out for the trash man.  Mom passed by without a glance but not dad!   Our dad collects Carol Collette water colored etchings.  Guess what dad found at the top of his trash pile?

Dad says it's got to be one of his finds of a lifetime!

Our dad couldn't be more pleased with his find!

One man's trash is another man's treasure!

So until next time............

Love ya lots♥

  2. Great find. We have a twice a year bulky trash pick-up. We call it the Council exchange because everyone throws out stuff they don't want, that may be perfectly okay and other people pick it up so it doesn't end in landfill. Sounds like those pictures were on the top in hopes someone would like them.

  4. Oh you are like us! We love finding treasure. We have not dumpster dived yet but Lee says it is not out of the question. Did you see our post where we found the wonderful Airedale painted and fired on a vase. Wyatt and Stanzie were really interested in that find.
Your Dad has a sharp eye.
    Thanks for being a friend

  6. We love it when mom stops to "dumpster dive" because there are always nice smells and sometimes even treats for us. Her biggest and bestest find is a chair that cost her some serious treat moneys to repair, but your Dad's pictures top that by a whole lot! (the chair matches her victorian rocker built for new mamas.)

  13. That is for sure the truth...my word I cannot imagine that beautiful
art on a trash pile. We love love love old barns. We have a NC artist
Bob Timberlake who does gorgeous out of doors paintings especially barns and older homes and his winterscapes are fantastic. If you every see a photo of me on a blue couch one of his photos is above the couch.

  14. Who would throw those in the trash. We have thrift stores that would take those.

  15. I'm so glad your dad found them!!! It is so true that one man's trash is another's treasure. Our neighborhood has a google group where people announce what they want to get rid of... and invite others to claim the stuff before the trash company takes them. In your case, you didn't even need such a fancy system!

  16. Thank goodness it didn't rain on the etchings! It beats me why anyone would put such wonderful things out in the trash. Do you really mean the neighbour thought these were going to the local tip (dump?)? Such a terrible waste. Does your area have Freecycle? It's an online thing where you post what you don't want and other people come to get it.
