Torrential Rains and Flooding

Early this morning,   the rains began to fall and they continued, sometimes VERY heavy at times.    Around 2:30 this afternoon, they finally stopped.

Mom wouldn't let me go out without being leashed.     This is my fenced in yard.   There isn't a whole lot of yard that isn't under water!
The woodchucks live underneath the shed.   OOPS!
Hey, mom - how are you going to do laundry?  We go through those green bilco doors to get to the washer and dryer.    We have no idea yet if there is water in the basement.   We're guessing there probably is.
Uncle Tom has told us many times that we live in a flood zone.   I guess he wasn't kidding!
Who knew that my fenced in yard came with a free swimming pool!
Love ya lots♥

That is horrible. Thank goodness you house is on the 2nd floor.
We hope and purr no damage to the washer and dryer area.

We had 1.8" of rain in 5 hours last night but that is just a drop in the bucket compared to these photos

  2. Don't worry about the woodchucks, I'm sure they found a drier place to go when it started pouring! That's a big lake you've got there!

  3. WOW! That is a lot of water! We hope it dries out soon so you can do dry zoomies. We know the peeps' attitudes to wet, muddy dogs.

We finally got a little bit of rain overnight.....

  10. We think we'd be splashing around in your yard. Then when the water is gone, you'll have lots of nice gooey mud.

  12. Oh no - I hope that the basement is okay and that the water is receding. While a dog will always find the fun in any situation, even suddenly having a pond in their yard, peeps need to do things like the laundry. Thinking of you.

  13. Goodness me what a lot of water. We have had lots of water too but we live on a hill so we don't flood here but the lower parts of our village do. There was lots of standing water the other day after heavy rain because the water tables are all full after the winter.

We hope it drains away soon and you can get back into your garden Molly. Hugs, Susie & Treacle xx
