Nature Friday

We are joining the LLB Gang today for Nature Friday~~

On our property, we have a very small portion of woods where mom dumps leaves and grass clippings~
We pile sticks in here too~
There are two fireplaces in the house but we won't be lighting them.
There are lots of places for small wild animals to hide when it's cold but so far the only ones that we see in our yard are fox and deer.
Next to the small woods are the Holly bushes~
And they still have berries on them~
And behind the house, mom planted a Rosemary because she loves the scent of this herb.
And she uses it in her cooking~
Happy Friday, everybuddy!

Love ya lots♥
Molly

  2. We miss the flowers, but appreciate the rosemary. That is one of the things in the herb garden that even muzzer can grow. Almost. And this time of years we have lots of berries, some in our yard, others on our walkies route. Come viisit! We would be happy to share!

  4. Happy Nature Friday to you and Mom Molly.
We have gas logs here so no wood needed.
I love that your mom smashes up her rosemary.

I should have included a link about Swish program. I was surprise no one had heard of it. I added this link

  5. We have a big stick pile in our back yard. Sparrows Inc. use it as their winter spa hotel. In spring Dad will put all the sticks through the noisy screaming stick grinder machine thing and make them into mulch. But then we begin piling more sticks for next year.

Hope you have a Happy New Year!

  9. Nice yard. Too bad you don't use the fireplace. We have a gas one which is so nice. It is super warm and there is no mess or work with it.

  13. Mom used to have a small herb garden. Rosemary is one of her favorites too.

Mom loves all the Christmas lights too, but we had a warmer day yesterday before the arrival of some bitter cold today. She decided to get those outside lights off the shrubs and put away. Then she just kept going with all the inside decorations too. And now she says the house looks so bare - she too is wishing she had waited a few more days.

  16. The holly bushes are so pretty - that is something I would love to have. I'd also love to have some rosemary outside all winter, but I had to bring mine inside. It never seems to do quite as well inside, but I have been able to use a little bit....my favorite is on chicken or roasted potatoes.

  18. We don't have a fireplace in our new home. We never used the one in our old house either. It seriously never gets that cold here. LOL!
