A few days ago, mom made an Oktoberfest soup. It's a first for us.
One of the ingredients is a carrot. Who doesn't love carrots!
That's more like it but.............actually, I didn't eat the leaf. I refused it after the first bite. I prefer spinach leaves.
Add two bottles of your favorite beer, 1 1/2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon of caraway seeds, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
Add half a head of a small green cabbage, that has been sliced and diced.
Cover and simmer the soup till it's done.
Happy Tuesday!
Love ya lots♥

ReplyDeleteCrikey, that's almost more a stew - just right for the cold weather! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
My mom used to make a soup like that. Very good!
ReplyDeleteYum in your tum, but don't get wobbly knee'd from the beer!
ReplyDeleteOh sounds good. When I introduced Spinach it wasn't cooked done and Domino picked around it in the bowl. She did the same with carrots but put them on the floor! She eats them raw now. Silly girls. Thanks I will try your soup sound like one we would like.
ReplyDeleteYou eat so healthy, Miss Molly. I tried to get our Angel Little Bit to eat carrots and she said no.
ReplyDeleteI love all things cabbage. Yummy.
Have a woof woof day. My best to your mom. ♥
Dad would like that soup. Mom doesn't like cabbage.
ReplyDeleteI tried carrots, but I didn't like it. I looooove apples, though.
ReplyDeleteThat sure looks tasty and we bet it really warms your mom up too.

Wow! That looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteAngel Joey dog used to love cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots too. He would steal scraps of them from the compost pile and eat them. He didn't care if he got some gaseous emissions after that.
Looks like the perfect soup for a chilly rainy day(like it is here today)!
ReplyDeleteDad probably wouldn't like it because he is not a veggie guy, especially not spinach or carrots. But Mom would love it, so we think it may be on the try list here. Thanks for sharing.

Mom lived in Germany for ten years and says it looks like a soup she saw over there. Hope it was tasty :)
ReplyDeleteOur girls will not eat carrots. Annie will take them in and then she will pop them right out. Katy doesn't even bother to give them the time of day. They really aren't much into veggies.
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds SO good! Sometimes Luke will eat a raw cabbage leaf, but he definitely prefers the carrots like you, Molly!
ReplyDeleteMy tummy is growling! Our friends brought us soup this evening and we're going to eat it soon. I cannot imagine that it will be as good as yours!
ReplyDeleteOh yum! I love soup...any day! And like you, Molly, I love carrots.
ReplyDeleteaside from the brats (I can't eat beef or pork) this sounds and looks so sosososososo good
ReplyDeleteHi friend! Ojo here! Yum! I'll take it before or after cooking - both ways look good! Did you save me some?
ReplyDeleteBut not the cabbage hat. I do not want the cabbage hat.
ReplyDeleteVeggies aren't my thing. Dougall loooooved them. The peep made him a salad for his last barkday... BOL
