We are joining Rosy and Sunny today for Nature Friday~~
Our newest squirrel proof hanging baffle is the Arundale and it's working! So far, no piggy squirrels have been able to figure out how to get to the feeder and steal the birdie's seed☺
Mom has to outfox them on the heart feeder. We know that those pesky squirrels jump from a near-by limb right into the center of the heart if the feeder is turned towards the limb. She needs to figure out how to stop the rotating feeder. Those squirrels are sure smart and persistent little buggers!
Flowers on the Amarylis are still opening!
There are still two more buds to open on one of the stalks. We still have another stalk to go!
What a beautiful flower this is and it's the first time we have ever had one to watch. We may have to have one every year. It brings so much beauty and excitement to a cold January day!
Happy Friday, everybuddy!
Love ya lots♥
Molly
They are houseplants in the northern states ...it'll bloom for you again. Such a vivid red!! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThose squirrels need to eat too. Right? But most of all, your beauty enhanced this blog today Molly....happy Friday
we still wait for the stalk here... but it seems... well ya know ;O)
ReplyDeleteThe Amarylis is beautiful. It's great your mom has something to do, playing with the squirrels and the feeders. Squirrels can be entertaining for everyone I guess! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteIt takes brain to outwit a pesky tree rat.
ReplyDeleteBut what a pretty Amarylis.
Hari OM
ReplyDeleteThat Amaryllis is simply beautiful... Nothing beats a bit of winter colour! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
BOL Molly that tree rat has lost the battle to outsmart Mom. Well done Mom.
ReplyDeleteYou know who loves that red Amarylis
Love you Lots
Cecilia
What a pretty post - with the prettiest being YOU!
ReplyDeleteHappy FrEYEday!
H&K&W,
Willow & Phyll
PeeEssWoo: We had always heard and/or used Cayenne/Red Pepper to deter those Tree Rats - the birds didn't notice it but Tree Lobstahs didn't care for it!
Lulu: "Squirrels!"
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "Birds!"
Those squirrels can be difficult to keep off the feeders. We like the new baffle and can see how it could out fox those squirrels. What a beautiful sight those amaryllis flowers are.
ReplyDeleteLeaf removal
ReplyDeleteWe rec'd an email (that made absolutely no sense) from the city re: Leaf pick is behind schedule blah blah blah and will be late in your area. As Bryan, said: BUT CITIZENS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE BEHIND IN UTILITY PAYMENTS
lol
Those squirrels are beyond sneaky!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful red amarylis!
xoxo,
Rosy
Molly ~ you are so adorable ~ and squirrels are tricky ~ we spend time keeping them away too ~ Xo
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

The flowers are sure pretty sweet Molly and that was a good job foiling that silly squirrel.
ReplyDeleteMolly, Amarylis are so pretty! Mom said our angel Momo and Pinot used to feed squirrels who visited our backyard and eventually hungry Mama squirrels broke the screens.
ReplyDeleteKozmo was chasing the newly awakened squirrels this morning! They are quite the acrobats! Mom says she has not missed their chattering! And that amarylis is almost as gorgeous as you Molly! Keep being awesome! Purrs Marvelous Marv
ReplyDeleteYikes on your Nature Call FrEYEday night/Saturday morning -
ReplyDeleteWe have those StripedKhytties too - one morning the neighbor across the street sent me a FB message letting me know one had just gone around the back of the house -
Of course, one can't always know if it is skunk or Starbucks' roasting time
:-)
We took our feeders down for now because of the Evil Squirrel Cartel (4 of them!)
ReplyDeleteThe red is absolutely stunning and so nice at this time of year. We have a metal cage around our bird feeders. The birds can fly in and out but the squirrels can't get in no matter how they try. It is the only thing we have found to keep them out! Although one of the pesky devils as learnt to shake the cage and some of the seeds fall out!!! Hugs & Love, Susie & Coco xx
