Duke
Friday, the mailman delivered a box that was addressed to MEEE!!!!!
It was full of Halloween goodies from our friends, Miss Phyll and Willow.Of course, the first thing I discovered was the very bright neon green squeaky fox!We are joining Rosy and Sunny this week for Nature Friday~~
Mom changed up our walk earlier this week so there were lots of new smells to discover~
Off we go~
We found Coral Bells still blooming~And a pleasant surprise - Irises! We found beautiful mums~We found creepy Halloween decorations~We found Queen Anne's Lace still in bloom~Happy Friday, everybody!Love ya lots♥Mom was hungry for Nanny's Goulash, so she grocery shopped yesterday and got all of the ingredients. She sautéd bell peppers and celery and a small shallot together until they got soft. Then she added a pound of ground beef and finally a large can of diced tomatoes. Of course there was salt and pepper and a teaspoonful of sugar and garlic and Italian seasonings. Normally, she puts this over elbow macaroni but she is thinking she may put it over a soft roll and enjoy it like a sloppy joe. Tomorrow she will do the pasta!
I got to have a taste too!Guess what else she bought at the grocery store - a grunting piggy.Off I go to play with my new toy! Thanks, mom!We are joining Sunny this week for Nature Friday~~
The pine needles are falling everywhere!
The Virginia Creeper has turned its beautiful red Autumn color~We found flowers that look like Shasta Daisy but how can this be? Our have been gone for a month at least!Pumpkins!Pretty Marigolds~Up the long hill we go. Can you tell that my tail is wagging?!Happy Friday, everyone!Yesterday morning, mom couldn't find me. She called and called and called and I didn't come. I always come when I'm called (inside the house).
Christmas package have been arriving and she's been hiding them under her bed. I can't understand why she's not letting me open these gifts. All packages that arrive are for me, right?! I wasn't stuck under the bed.
She looked everywhere more than once and even checked the back door to make sure it was locked and no one had entered and stolen me.
The entire time, she kept calling my name and saying, "Duke, where are you?" I could tell that she was beginning to get frantic.
She had this great idea to squeak one of my favorite toys. She thought for sure I'd come running as no one touches MY toys!
Still no Duke came running.
And then she remembered earlier putting her coat, that was hanging on the back of the chair in the kitchen, back into the closet that was in the dark puzzle room. And it engaged her brain!!!
She raced to the closet and opened the door and out I came☺ Of course, there was a lot of rejoicing but she couldn't understand why I didn't scratch at the door or make a sound to let her know where I was.
At least I was found safe and sound but I sure did give mom a scare so early in the morning.
I promise that I will try to stay out of the closet from now on, mom.
Love ya lots♥It's hard to see because it's the same color that I am but I have a Benebone wishbone in my mouth.
I love my Benebones because they're great to chew on and they make an awesome bat!Happy Monday! We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday~~
First off, mom bought me a new harness, a blue-9 harness that comes highly recommended by the Whole Dog Journal. You will see me in this harness today but it will be going back as the neck size doesn't adjust small enough to fit. A smaller harness is on the way.
Because mom was trying to juggle the dual connect multi-function leash, which is also a blue-9 product, and the camera, she was having difficulties taking photos. We did get a nice shot of this pinkish autumn grass~We found beautiful lavender mums!Happy Friday, everyone!I helped mom make Pumpkin Morning Glory Muffins!
