Yesterday and into last night, just over an inch of snow fell and then the rain started and it's still raining and at 30 degrees F everything has turned to ice~
My tail is wagging as I want to stay outside and play but mom says no. It's dangerous, Duke!
I am doing my morning business under the ice covered apple tree and mom was praying no branches were going to break while we were underneath them.
The pink dogwood tree is covered in ice too and you can see the slushy "pond" to the right of it.
Farmer Will plowed the driveway around 2:30am and it's now a skating rink. Our temps are supposed to climb this afternoon and then the wind event will begin. Mom is praying we don't lose our power.
I sure hope my fun snow is not ruined!

Duke I'll take snow any day over I C E!!! That mess is just plain scary. You and mom stay away from ice and make sure your loo trips are quick not slow. They are talking about messy freezing stuff here mid week. I hope February will be the last of this mess

We've been having that freezing rain here this morning and it's a bit slippery in our yard too. Stay safe and our paws are crossed that neither of us looses our power.

If an inch isn't enough, we are happy to send you some of ours! We got 15 inches Thursday and at lunch we had gotten another 5 today (with up to 15 expected). Lee and Phod who are done with winter.
ReplyDeleteIce is not fun, even we silly sibes know that. We love the cold but the ice is treacherous. Misty has a very hard time on our deck when it is covered with ice. Be careful out there, and Mom too.

Oh that is terrible. Ice is the absolute worst. Hopefully the warm air will melt things but then that nasty wind will only freeze things again. Bummer of a weather situation.
