We are joining Rosy today for Nature Friday~~
We have had way too much rain lately but we are dodging the raindrops to get our walks in~We are finding lots of mushrooms~This monster is practically next to our mailbox and mom is so mean and won't even let me sample it!We found Joe Pye Weed~This plant is Burdock and it is in flower~ Good thing mom looked it up because it isn't a Thistle. We are not seeing as many butterflies as the temps keep going up and down but we did manage to catch this one on one of our Butterfly bushes! We did see mom and her fawn in Farmer Will's field again~Happy Friday!Love ya lots♥Duke

Duke those mushrooms are amazing. Just don't chew any of them. You never know. Our Joe Pye is starting to fade in the purple iron weed and the yellow Goldenrod is starting to take over. Happy weekend
ReplyDeleteoh duke you're so handsome! Those deer look like professional models in your brilliant shot. Did Duke try to bite those mushrooms? the butterfly photo is so good too

Great nature scenes, love seeing deer! We are like a desert here. When the guy mowed our lawn the other night, it was just dust in the air as it is all dry and brown. Hoping for some rain this weekend. These days rain is feast or famine it seems.

ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, our Dada sometimes buys burdock root from the store and makes a stir fry dish with it! He says it's because Italians will eat anything, but the stir-fry he likes to make is Asian, so we're not sure that's really it ..."
