Eight Inches

We got eight inches of cold fluffy snow yesterday!
Does my nose look crooked to you?
It's probably frozen!  It's only 10 degrees outside right now and the sun is shining and it's the peak of the afternoon.   Mom and dad don't even want to think about what the lows are going to be tonight!  brrrrrrrr
Molly appears to be frozen in place~~
And because it's so cold out, we can only be outside for a VERY short period of time or we will lift our feets for mom to dust off the snow because they begin to freeze!
The black swans have a heat light inside their swan cottage and they are smart enough to let themselves in at night.   Dad doesn't even feed them outside any more. He feeds them inside to encourage them to go in.
Penny, Margaret and Angel Whooper have lots of company on this very frigid day~
For all of the peeps who are once again in this deep freeze - stay warm!

Pasta Fagioli

Our mom made this soup called pasta fagioli and we helped her.
It has lots of ingredients in it but about the only thing that we scored was a piece of carrot.    Mom said that raw potatoes and cannellini beans and chick peas aren't really for pups.
Our mom didn't feel like making bacon so she cheated.      I sure wish the mouth of this jar was wider so I could get my tongue in there!
 The soup is cooking away.
We still need to cook the ditalini pasta and add that.
We can definitely have pasta, right mom?
A sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and we're good to go!
It was delicious and mom says that we are the bestest helpers!

So until next time..............

Our Blog Book

This year's blog book came in the mail yesterday.  Mom orders one every year so she has tons of pictures of us.
We chose this picture for the cover because we were waiting for a very special AireGirl and her mum to come and visit us for the very first time.
And we do have to say that this has to be the highlight of 2013 - our visit with Miss Elaine and Sunshade the SuperDale
We sure did have lots of fun together!
Who are these handsome doggies on the back cover?!
 Seven books, Molly!
The first posting by angel Maggie was November 2006.   That's a lot of posts!
We love our blog books. They are so very special to us~~

Rewarded

Yesterday was our first day back at Crumpie's in over a month!
Can you tell we're out of our minds with excitement!
We had a very warm January day yesterday. It was almost 50 degrees out and dad suggested that we head to Lenny and Joe's for fish.
S-U-R-E - of course - absolutely!
I see dad coming with foodables, Molly!
Clam roll, fish sandwich, cole slaw and french fries.

You don't see the fries on the plate because we are eating them!

We were rewarded handsomely for a job well done!
We're off to Crumpie's again tomorrow!  We sure do love supervising!

So until next time...............

We're Timber Framin'

Guess where we are today?
In the workshop - our workshop!  Mom and dad are timber framing a barn that will be raised in Maine in September.
The timber frame drill bit is socket-ed in!  Its job is to drill the holes where the pegs will fit.
 The sawdust is flying~
The timber frame mallets and chisels and combination squares are out and working.
Dad is feeling much better!
We're off and running and we are so happy to be back to work!   We have work in our shop and more work to do at Crumpie's so we will be very busy supervising pups!

So until next time............

Discharged

Our dad was discharged from the visiting nurses and on Tuesday, his PICC line was removed.
No more IV antibiotics and pumps that make beeping noises and no more flushing his blood lines with saline and heparin.  He's almost a free man!

We have lots of saline and heparin flushes that are sealed and never used.  Mom is going to see if our vet or a rescue group could possibly use them. One of the visiting nurses told us that's what she does with these.

We are so happy that our dad is healing! He's coming along brilliantly!
Mom was in a baking mood and made another loaf of her cheese bread!

Life is good~~

All Gone

We had fog this morning and 50 degree temps earlier today and then rain and drizzle and look what happened.
Our snow is all gone!  Only a few teeny tiny piles remain.
Molly and mom love to play ball while mom is supposed to be cooking dinner~
Molly hides her ball in our basket full of toys and it's mom's job to find it and toss it to her.

Mom thinks that Molly can't tell which is her tennis ball.  Silly mom!
While the girls play ball,  I'm working hard to get treats out of this contraption that doesn't cooperate very well.

Have you had enough ball playing yet, Molly?!
NEVER!!!!!
Our temps are supposed to drop tonight and get superfrigid!  A lot of our friends are already in this cold and scary grip.   Stay safe and stay warm, guys!

Storm Bethany

We got snow!!!!
The snow is not the real issue for storm Bethany. It's the subzero temps and the wind!  We had zero degrees last night with blizzard conditions and wind chills below zero and it's going to be worse tonight!

Molly was having a blast playing in the snow!

What do you mean it's time to go in?  I was just getting started!  I'm not cold - honest!
Today is our sissy's birthday!  Happy Birthday, Missy!  We hope you have a fun day playing in the snow!

So until next time..........

Happy New Year

We just love this~~

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something. So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life. Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever.” ― Neil Gaiman

We wish you all a happy and a healthy and a safe New Year!
