We're back in the garden again this week! This time of year lots of pretty things are happening and mom and I spend so much time out there weeding and dead-heading!
Remember the chives you saw a couple of weeks ago? We made chive vinegar! The chives turned the white vinegar the prettiest shade of pink! As soon as the dill blooms, we'll be making some dill vinegar too! Mom loves using a tiny bit of this on our potatoe salad!
The Mountain Laurel is in bloom! It's Connecticut's state flower and even though it doesn't smell, it's still a stunning flower! We just love it!
The Roses are in bloom too! Mom stinks at growing roses because she hates to feed them and she hates to spray them and these are both MUST-do's when you own roses! We have ONE rose bush in our entire yard and it's blooming and it smells so lovely!
We bought 3 new bushes this year - a blue hydrangea and a yellow barberry, which you see here and she finally broke down and bought a pink hydrangea! Can you see the flower right behind my head on my back? It's a silk one but it matches the blue hydrangea bush that's real! It's hard to tell what's real and what's fake!
Well, hello, Mr. Bunny! You'd best skidaddle before Maggie and Mitch see you! They love to chase bunnies!
The Evening Primrose is coming into bloom too!
And so is the Foxglove! They've very, very tall - way over my head! Mom has light yellow foxgloves too!
These bright pink flowers are called Sweet William and they smell like a carnation - just Heavenly! Someone gave us the plant that's blooming yellow and it's spreading like crazy only mom has no clue what it is! Does anyone know?
The Daylillies are beginning to come into bloom too! This one kinda matches my carrot bandana!
That's my garden tour for this week! I hope you enjoyed it!
See you all next Wednesday!
Love, Autumn
You have such a beautiful garden. Thanks for showing us all the pawsome flowers Autumn

Autumn,
ReplyDeleteYour garden is so pretty! The sweet Williams are mom's favorite. She loves their smell!
You always give such great garden tours, Autumn! Our mom keeps buying pink Hydrangeas, but when they bloom the second time, they're always blue. It's something to do with the PH of the stupid red clay. She's tried putting lime on the ground, but it hasn't worked either. Last year, our water restrictions killed one of them, but we still have hope for the other one. Yours are very pretty!

Autumn,
ReplyDeleteYou have such a bootiful garden - you must be an excellent helper to your mom as this garden seems like way too much for only one to handle. I particularly like the hydrangeas!
Question: What is the adornment on your tail?? Mom says that it looks like a wine glass marker (for lack of proper terminology) but I say No! that it must be a new style for doggies - like a necklace but to be worn on the tail.
Well we LOVE your garden and you are the perfect guide. You show consider doing a TV show!! Love A+A
ReplyDeleteAutumn you have such a green thumb. Your garden is absolutely lush!

Well Autumn...aren't ya the hostess with the mostest....that was very interesting about the chive vinegar....my Gram never heard of it....know what's funny? The mountain laurel is the Pa. state flower too...guess we have something other than being terriers in common....my Gram loves flowers too 'n her foxgloves are startin' ta bloom too...she doesn't have too much luck with the hydrangeas though...I think we need a different kind cause they don't always bloom although there are several buds ready to pop soon....
ReplyDeleteDewey Dewster here.....
