Wheelie Wednesday - Millstones

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
Dad has a real fascination with millstones and whenever he sees one, he buys it which means that most of the time mom needs to find a spot for them in the yard and some of them are not little! This is our newest addition - and this one sits right next to our back door! Can you see all the ridges on this millstone? It was used for grinding grains! This one is actually part of the garden. The diameter is not as large but it's very thick! Yes, it is out of level but it's very heavy and it kinda does whatever it wants too!
I had to jump off my pumpkin wheels to get up here! That's a sundial right next to me! It's almost time for morning tea! This millstone is in a different garden and it's HUGE and it needed a backhoe to move it here - a very large backhoe! This baby is never going anywhere but right here!
The perennial geraniums are in bloom and this pretty iris is stained glass and stays in the garden until autumn! This is chervil! It's an herb but mom doesn't cook with it! It has such a pretty fern leaf and a delicate white flower and it spreads all over the garden! It has an anise flavor when you brush the leaves!
Meet my friend, Jack! He's really Jack-in-the-pulpit! Isn't he the coolest little man ever! He's hiding underneath his leafy hoodie so he never gets wet and he has a built-in sunshade for his eyes! He's one of my very favorite wild flowers!
I hope you enjoyed this week's garden tour!

See you all next Wednesday!
Love, Autumn

  27. On first glance, we read "milestones" -- and we were afraid we had missed something. We love seeing what people collect -- and millstones are certainly unique -- and very historic and interesting.

Thank you for the tour -- and getting dressed in your lovely hat to make us feel special!!
