Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
It's the middle of October and we haven't had frost on the pumpkin yet but the Calendula flowers are still going strong!
This is our pond at 8AM. It's just under 40 degrees and the water temperature is obviously warmer than the Aire temp! It looks kind of creepy, doesn't it?
That's dad's lumber barn with the cupola and those are sunflowers drooping their heads in the foreground. The birdies have been very busy trying to get every last sunflower seed! It's fun to sit there and watch them work at it!The apple tree still has quite a few apples on it! Mitch makes sure he gets at least one every day and sometimes 2 or 3! Dauby and the Grey Lag geese like apples too! I say there's enough to go around for everyone but Mitch doesn't feel that way! The little piggyboy wants them all for himself.
Here comes Dauby for her breakfast apple! I really am this close to her! She's really a very friendly and trusting swan.
Do you see all those leaves? Mom and I plan on raking them all up today! Mom says she can't see Maggie and Mitch's poo because of all the leaves and she's sick and tired of stepping in it! Okay, mom! We get the picture! I'll grab the rack and we'll get started! This is my scarecrow friend! He's a sure sign of autumn!
See you all next Wednesday!
Love, Autumn
Pinky always oohs and aaahs at photos of your yard. We really like the pond. It's much bigger than ours.

We just love Dauby! But we didn't know you had geese too! How cool is that?!
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful fall colors! Ours aren't so pretty this year. The weather fools say it has something to do with all the rain we've had (and still have today)!
ReplyDeleteThat's sooooo cool that Dauby lets you get so close. Have fun helping your mom rake the leaves!

Uh oh, time to rake leaves if mom has to use her poop finder shoes.
ReplyDeleteYou still have apples on your trees? Between me and the birds, all of ours vanished some time ago, but our trees are just babies.
Lots of mists rising this time of year in the morning. I think its kind of pretty.

HI Maggie and Mitch,
ReplyDeleteMaggie you sure dress up pretty to rake leaves.
We sure wish you would quit showing these pretty fall pictures. Mommy keeps thinking about going on another trip and without us!
We Luuuuuv that barn!
Riley and Star.
How nice to still have flowers and all the beautiful fall colors. Mom says she loves all of it except the fallen leaves. They had lots of oak trees in their yard in MA and she says they were always the last to fall - many a cold Thanksgiving weekend were spent raking and bagging those leaves.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, just beautiful.

What a pretty backyard Autumn! I love your pond, what a treat :) Thanks for giving us a tour.

I had to laugh. We have the same problem with falling leaves covering the poop. Rob and I both stepped in it yesterday. Rob will mulch them if it ever stops raining.
ReplyDeleteHello Maggie, Mitch and Autumn!!
ReplyDeleteWe always enjoy looking at the pictures of your garden. Looks like lovely Autumn enjoyes looking at this beatuful season of the year. We are not sure how long yours will last but ours won't be here for a long time. :(
Momo & Pinot
Autumn, an excellant post as always. I love seeing the world through your eyes. It is as if everything stops in time for you. I hope you didn't have to work too hard on the leaves.
ReplyDeletelicks and sniffs, Sasha
what a beautiful area you live in!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful colors! Wish we had more reddish hues around here.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Miley
Hey Autumn,
ReplyDeleteA very pleasant and relaxing post. We can only imagine how much M&M poop is under the leaves given how much M&M love to eat. New England is beautiful in the fall; our dad misses that most about Massachusetts.

Isn't that 3rd shot from top beautiful!! Our place isn't exactly that colorful yet, plus it requires a little travelling to catch prettier sights. So thank you for sharing these, beautiful!
