Wheelie Wednesday - Washing Windows

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
Mom and I have been busy for the past few days washing windows! You're not going to believe this but we LOVE washing windows. Do you?

I didn't want to mess up my pretty autumn hat so I took it off to give mom a hand!
It's not nighttime here! It's rainy and gloomy and very depressing today but we don't care - we're washing windows anyway!
The storm window is clean!
And now for the sashes! Mom loves 12 on 12 windows and she likes to see them sparkle and she doesn't like to leave the screens in the windows if they're not being used! It's brighter if we take them out and store them for the winter months!
Dad had these windows made and he wanted reproduction glass in them - the kind with waves and bubbles, and when they were delivered they didn't have any glass in them so that was another project that needed to be done!
And mom and dad both love hand-blown bullseye glass so each sash has one pane of bullseye glass in it making it really cool! The window in this room is all done! Time to move on to the next room!Mom and I still have lots more windows before we're all done!

See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

  1. How cool to take your screens off and let all the light in! Of course my people are much too lazy for that. I am sure there were plenty of nose prints to wash away.

  3. Autumn,
Don't work too hard! Is there a lot of 'dale slobber or nose prints to clean off the windows? Your windows are just beautiful! It's been dark and gloomy here, too, and I'm ready for some sunshine!

  11. Our Mom just purchased a bunch of old windows - not that our house isn't full of them - it's 110 years old. Mom wants to fashion a little greenhouse out of the other windows. We'll let you know if that happens or not.

I like your bullseye windows, very nice!! I use to like to clean windows when I was in better shape.
I put a quilt on my blog of a frog that I think is real cute. Come and see when you have the time. I think you would enjoy seeing it.

  13. We love to wash the windows....with our tongues. Our girl hates to wash them and doesn't like the job we do. She says you are more than welcome to come visit us to wash the windows.

  14. We decorate our windows with SNART (snot + art + snart!).

Our servant is not a snart connesseur (however you spell it) and she washes it off. Boring.

  16. We take the screens off, too. It makes it much brighter.

Morgan likes to follow Mom around and clean the windows after Mom is finished. She sits there and licks the window until it's nice and cloudy and covered with dog spit.

  18. that has to be the cutest little 'work' hat I have ever seen and what a great job you did on cleaning the windows. But don't you keep at least one as window art created by maggie and mitch - the snootles window. Out front storm door is my masterpiece - it has lots of my snootles on it and as quick as mom cleans them off - they magically re-appear :)

Am wondering I can get Judy to do my windows!

Do tell Mom, that sadly my chestnuts are not the edible variety, I collect them just because they so shiny - it's the magpie in me!

  34. Most of the windows at the back of our house have no screens, in fact the windows are floor to ceiling and don't open. Mom goes insane trying to keep them clean. Autumn, can you please come and help her. She has them professionally but within the first rainstorm, they are filthy again.

You have done such a great job on that window and we love the fall foliage decorations.

Cleaning windows is something my mom is not very good at! And that is a reason I never show my windows!

  38. Our mom hates cleaning the windows, and the reason why she has to do it so often is because somepup (points at Hershey) loves to leave her nose prints on the windows!!

Your mom is lucky to have you around to help her out!

  41. We love your windows! The sparkle and the bullseye glass and the wood frames and the views outside AND the very helpful wheelie who helps wash - wearing her very chic scarf. (Do you think that'd pass for a babushka?)
