SnowStorm Denis

This is what the end of our driveway looked like yesterday before dad got the snowblower out. We got 2 feet of snow!  It's a 4 foot jump to get down to the street.
Can you see that the snow is up to my belly?!

The wind whipped and blew all night on Wednesday night and there were drifts everywhere. It's pretty but 2 feet on top of 3 feet makes 5 feet and mom and dad are having a hard time finding spots to put all of this white stuff!
Can you see the pile on top of our front porch roof?  We are crossing our paws that it doesn't collapse!
The snowy handle on the barn door is normally 4 foot off the ground~
I finally got to come out to pee and poo!  When mom brought us out at 4AM we had to PUSH our way out of the back door. We were literally snowed in!  I didn't get too far off the back porch  before I toppled over in the snow. It was just too deep for my liking, being the senior girlie that I am!
Thanks for the walkie trench, dad.  It makes it much easier for me~

That's our wisteria under that huge pile of snow~
Does anybody need or want any snow?
Let us know - we have LOTS of it to share!
So until next time..................

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

  2. It might be a pain, but it IS beautiful. We'd be completely buried in all that snow. We'd definitely need a trench or tunnel.

We think it is cool that you had some black swans.

  3. Oh my goodness, that is certainly some snow you have there - very much like ours a couple of weeks ago.
We were very worried that our conservatory roof would collapse under the weight so paws crossed for your porch.
Having said that it really is beautiful!!!!
You can keep it though - after six weeks the novelty does wear off.

  4. Hey M&M,
Well look at the bright side, you'll be able to have a 4th of July snowman building contest. It took our dad 4 hours to get home from work Wednesday night and we were snow/iced in yesterday morning. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. OBTW, this is all the fault of the dogs at Golden Pines.

  6. Watch out for collecting snowballs in your furs. I know how annoying that can be for you wiry haired doggies.

This snow is absurd. Momma keeps looking out the window and shaking her head because she cannot believe it.

  7. Oh my! I complain, but I don't have that much snow to complain about. It's supposed to get up to 37 tomorrow, so maybe some will melt away. I hope your porch doesn't collapse. Hubby used to live near Syracuse, New York. His kitchen roof caved in the last winter he lived there. I think that's why it was the last winter he lived there.

  8. OMD, we thought we had lots of snow. You win.
Mom had to hire someone to take the snow off of our roof this week.
    It does look beautiful.

  9. If we had that much snow, in the Atlanta area, we would be shut down until summer! It IS very pretty, but it has reminded our mom of the main reason she won't move back to Ohio, where her whole family lives!

That was very nice of your dad to make a path for you!

  10. Is there a snow competition? It seems everybody is getting more snow than each other over the days!
Hope it's not too cold for you all though!

  12. We would love some of your snow Maggie. It must be so hard to walk in it when it is that deep. If you sent some to us though it would probably melt fast because it is going to be 56 degrees here tomorrow. Stay warm.

  13. That really is a lot of snow but my dogness, is sure does look pretty. I hope your roofs will be okay, we saw on the news last night that in some places they were collapsing under the weight. And you be careful Miss Maggie, we don't want you slipping and hurting yourself.

  17. Wow that's a lot of snow. I'm not sure that I could get through that without a trench being dug for me. One good thing would be that my mom and dad could spot me because I have black fur.

  21. Whoa!! That's a lot of snow!!! Stay warm and safe!!! We didn't get any except cold winds again. We don't want anymore this year either. Last time I said that was in 1992 or 1993 in March when we got a couple feet of it which toppled a big tree on top of my car! It's pretty but not when you have a tree on your car! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly

  22. Hi Maggie and Mitch,
Well, we'll have to pass on your kind and generous offer of the snow... but thanks for showing us those beautiful pictures! It's a lot of hard work digging out from such a storm-maybe your Mom and Dad will be able to relax and drink some hot chocolate today...

  25. All I can say is it's a good thing that Airedales have long legs. Otherwise we would not have seen either of you in any of those pictures! Well, maybe the tops of your tipped ears, kinda like that shark in the movie. Da-Duh, Da-Duh, Da-Duh...

I can't believe you were able to make it to my Commentathon with all that snow. Did you take a sleigh? Well, I hope you know how very thankful I am that you came by to visit!

  30. Lovely views but I can see that it is completely overwhelming! The East Coast has gotten way too much snow this season. I will hope that is the end of it for you and that it melts quickly. Your home and property are so pretty!!

I too dig paths for my dogs in snow. It makes for easier poopsicle pickup too.

Thankfully it is Friday so folks can have a chance to get all dug out over the weekend. Take it easy.... xoxo

  34. You have shared your beautiful home with us through all the seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter,, but we have never seen snow like this!
I know its beautiful-- but seems like it would be a little overwhelming. We sometimes worry about our roof caving in.
I bet you do too.. Worry kinda takes the beauty away.
    Be safe

  46. Oh my, that is a lot of snow. It looks beautiful, especially on your house. But we can see how annoying it would be having it that deep.
Holly & Zac love playing in it, but that would be too deep for them to do much in it.

We hope it melts away soon, we would say we would like some but the humans of the household would be quite happy not getting any. It sure looks beautiful though.

You guys be careful in it!

    Happy Sunday. :)

  50. SO JEALOUS of your snow! It's 70 degrees down here and I'm pretty sure that the sun is scaring the snow away. I'm a way bigger fan of show than these silly sunny days. Make sure you get in enough snow plays and snow feastings for me!

  51. Oh yeah! Send the snow on over here :)
Beautiful, but can imagine it is quite a job to keep things plowed!! I'm a good snow trailblazer, just say the word, and I'll zoomie over!
