A Roof Update and a HAirecut

Hi everybody.  It's me, Mitch!
It's been hot here and mom says it's time for me to have a hAirecut only I lost my grooming room.
This was my grooming room and it's in the process of getting a new roof and now it doesn't even have an end wall!
Dad found rot and ants and damaged rafters and he and mom were in the process of replacing them.

Slow and steady will get the job done!

New rafters, new support beams and new sheathing on the roof.  It's coming along nicely!

So mom says that my temporary grooming room will be in the basement!
I've never been in the basement before.  When the basement door is open and mom is tending to the dehumidifier, she always tells us not to come down there because the boogie woman lives down there and she will get ahold of us and bite our ears off!  Maggie has never gone down to the basement EVER and I like my ears so no way will I go downstairs to the dungeon!

Our basement has a door that opens out  into our side yard so out the back door we go and down to the basement we go. This is the safe route! The boogie woman won't get me this way!
It's not so bad down here.  This used to be dad's workshop before he built his big barn!
This is my before picture.

Here I am an hour later~

Mom says that I'm her most handsome boy!
I feel so much cooler already!
Thanks, mom!
So until next time...............

Yer friend,

  1. Looks like your mom and dad are doing a great job on repairing your groom room! And you look fabulous with that new haircut!
    Bones and Treats,
    Bronson and Pepper

  2. The roof looks kind of "in progress" but YOU are a finished work of art. Love the classic squaire head profile.

  3. You look fabulous, Mitchy! Your mom does a fantastic job!

Um, could we rent your dad for a while? He sure is a handy guy and we don't have one anymore. You are sooooo lucky that he can fix everything at your house.

We sure are glad the boogie woman didn't get you!

    Penny & Patches

  4. Your mom is an excellent groomer!
And that witch lady sounds scawy!!

  5. You look wonderful. We are glad your Mom knows the secret passage and got you safely past the witch lady.

  6. Hubba-Hubba Mitch! Looking Good!!

  7. We see you still have your ears!! No boogie woman got you. And you are most handsome - the girls here are gushing over your handsome self.

Your Peeps are so very lucky that they can do the repairs on your house. We could use some of their skills. Your Dad would shutter if he saw the state of our barn and granary.

Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh, Ruairi and Ivy

  8. Oh, I agree completely. You ARE the most handsome guy, I am drooling over here!! Enjoy the snazzy cool haircut!!

  9. You are handsome, but I confess to loving the "shaggy" 'dale look too!

  10. Mitch we think you look mega cool now! Your mom's done a great job on you, we're due a clip this week but we hope the human forgets, we like the bohemian look;-). Have alovely weekend, Dex and Lou xxx

  11. I bet it feels good to have short furs!

  12. So how did the temporary grooming room workout?
    Benny & Lily

  13. Glad we don't have a withchy lady in our basement cuz that is where M always grooms me. You look very Handsome! Must be contagious or something going around cuz yesterday I Ernie, got a Bath AND a haircut!!
    Feels good!

  14. We all need haircuts, but our Mom isn't very handy with the scissors. Dad tries, but his cuts are kind of hit and miss. We miss our groomer. We wish she hadn't retired.
    Morgan, Tsar and the Porties

  15. Mitch you look so so so good!! I would love to love on you, pet you, kiss your beautiful forehead!!! I wish!!!!
I am spoiled I guess. 35 years ago I spent 3,000.00$ to put up this fence and that would be like spending 30,000.00$ today. I have loved the fence so so much. Even with the back corner gone and other holes here and there, I still love my fence!! I really want it fixed some how!!!
    xx, Fern

  16. Isn't that always the way - one projects becomes suddenly bigger and you end up finding other things that need fixing.

You do look good with your hair cut and I bet it is much cooler

Mom is wondering how all the swans are doing - can we have an update?

  17. Hi Mitch, looking good big guy. Maybe your mom and Sunshade's evil mum ought to go into business together :) Nice work on the roof too.

  18. Oh are so handsome. Your mom does a wonderful job on clipping your hair!
But always keep an eye out for that boogie woman...she could be anywhere!!!!
Hugs and wags, Mistaya and Maggie

  19. I remember when you were a wee pup and didn't like stairs at all, Mitch. You did well to go to the temporary grooming place, and you look very nice!

It's good that your Dad is so talented and able to fix up your grooming room again. I'll bet it will be so nice to have again. You might start calling it your "Spa". :)

    Happy Tails,
    William Tell

  20. We are in awe --both of how talented your peeps are -- and how quickly you mom was able to groom you.

When we get plucked/clipped it is an all day affair -- or at least that's what it feels like!!

    Wirey woofs,

    Jake and Just Harry

  21. That looks like an AWFUL lot of work! Your parents are amazing as to what they can do!
    And your hAIREcut looks GREAT!
    Play bows,

  22. Why, you look stunning, Mitch-waht a nice job your Mom did-and quick, too.
Glad you were spared your ears!

P.S. We'll look forward to seeing the finished roof from our vantage point on the couch-ha!

  23. I asked Mom what a basement is and she said it's a room thats dug out underneath the house. Mitch! Did you hafta dig that whole room yourself?

    p.s. You look mahveluss!

  24. We are soooooo glad you still have your ears! How scary.

Isn't it always the way that one job leads to another....and let's hope not...another?

    You look beautiful.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella

  25. You look great!!! Nobody is allowed in our little basement except mom because she said it has bad things there! We feel for you having the roof's been over two months now and we still are trying to get the small shed repaired. Our yard looks like a construction zone and the shed looks like it should be condemned!! Have a great weekend! Love, Holly & Mom

  26. Mitch,, you are sooooo handsome!

  27. Boy , I'm sure that's much better in the heat .

  28. Mitch, what a pawfect way to stay cool in the heat! You look fabulous with your new hAIR do.:)

  32. Wow, that's a lot of work for Dad and Mom. But we know they will fix it just pawfectly. We used to have one of those hatchway entrances on our house in Connecticut, but Mom says Dakota and Phantom did not like those stairs either. Mitch, you look pawsitively handsome with your new cut, and we bet it is very cool.
