I Like It Hot

I recently decided that I no long wanted my food served cold right out of the refrigerator.
Mom was serving it  and I was giving her a pleading look and it was breaking her heart.  She was afraid that one day I would decide that I didn't want to eat anymore and she didn't want that to happen.
This is what goes on in our kitchen while mom is preparing our meals.
Yes, I'm the instigator and Mitch is only too happy to go along with whatever I dish out!

Heck!  My food is more tasty than his and I have no problem rubbing it in!
Which bowl would you prefer?
I rest my case!

Mom is on the Yahoo K9 Kidney group and the Kidney Diet Group and the word is that eventually we kidney dogs may not like the taste or texture of one of our foods or the temperature that our food is served to us and we'll refuse to eat it.

Mom hasn't had a microwave oven in quite awhile because all she used it for was for popcorn and for storage purposes.
I now have my own microwave oven - just for me!!!!

Now when mom puts my food down in front of me, I thank her and I woof it down almost as fast as Mitch does!   I love my food warmed up!
 I enjoy every single morsel.
And I lick my bowl clean!
What?  I have a piece of rice on my nose?
Thank you for warming my food for me each meal, mom.  It sure does make me happy!

Love ya lots,

  1. you have got your Mom trained just right Maggie - warm food is so much nicer. I trained my Mom to do that from when I was a puppy - it is the natural way really. Dogs in the wild don't have refrigerated food - it is always warm.

  2. We like out food warm too! Plus we get different dishes all the time - D has a set of Royal Doulton bowls that she uses just for us! Your Mom is so good to listen to you - your own personal microwave and chef! What luxury -

    Lots of licks
    Sally and Paddy

  3. Miss Maggie,
Your mom would do anything for you and that's for sure. Your foodables sure look tasty and I am glad you are eating again.

  4. Miss Maggie:

We are so glad your mom can understand what you are saying. You are a lucky dog to have a hooman who can truly communicate.

  5. Woof! Woof! We checked out the link ... my om read that many dogs prefer warm moist food so she usually moisten my food with warm water. It is also good for digestion. Your special food looks so DELISH!!!! Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

  6. You are one wise Canine, Miss Maggie. If your Mom has ever tried to eat cold rice, she'd know it's not very tasty!! It's much better warmed up.

Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh, Ruairi and Ivy

  7. LOL - we've never heard of a pup with their own microwave before! We are glad you are enjoying your food!

  8. You lucky doggies! Better not tell mine or else they'd want their food microwaved too!!!!

  9. So glad you are eating well Miss Maggie! Keep up the good work!

  10. Good for you!!! You have your mom trained right!!! Lots of love, Debbie & Holly

  11. Phantom is like that too. One day he likes his canned food room temp right out of the can and other days he likes it out of the fridge. And some days he doesn't want it at all:(

YOu have a great Mom who not only warms your food, but she also makes you some pawesome meals too.

    Happy Sunday.

Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

  12. Mugsy was like that in his ... senior years too. He had the Knight convinced he couldn't eat his kibble if it wasn't soaked a bit in very warm water first...

  13. Your mom sure looks after you two nicely. I love your bowl stands - what a great idea for older doggies too.
    Enjoy your num-nums.
    Sending lotsaluv

  14. Warm food and your own personl microwave . Awesome!

  15. YUMMERZZZZZZZ! Your mom is the BESTEST for figuring out you'd like your meals hot - and for getting you your own microwave!
    Play bows and bone appetit!

  16. Don't you just love the way our pawrents are trained?
    Benny & Lily

  17. I likes my food cold in the summer and warmed up in the winter. Mom are great aren't they???

    woos, Tessa

  18. Tsar likes his food warmed up, too. We have a microwave in the garage to heat his dinner. Actually, Tsar has a delicate tummy that can't handle really cold food. If he eats something freezing cold, it makes him vomit.
    Morgan, Tsar and the Porties

  19. We love warm foodables, too. Even a little hot water poured over our kibble makes it SO much better!!

    -Gizmo, Bart and Ruby

  20. Maggie, we are so glad you mom figured out how to entice you to eat. You deserve your very own microwave.
Rice or your nose or not you are beautiful!

  21. WOW!! Your own personal microwave, you lucky dog!! Sometimes my food gets warmed up when it is cold outside otherwise I just do the room temp stuff!!

    Jazzi and Addy

  22. High five for warm meal, Maggie, Mitch and mom!!

What your mom doesn't use microwave really tells us she is an excellent cook!!! (which we've always known.) You're lucky pups. :) :)

The background on your blog is very nice! We love it!

    Happy Sunday!
    Momo & Pinot xoxo

  25. It's so lucky that you have si=uch a clever Mom, who understands exactly what you need. It's great to hear you're eating so well and the problem has been solved. Have a fun week. Ros and Oscar

  26. Warm food gets the votes from the 4-legged's in our house. Glad your appetite is back!

  27. It does look like you eat very well Miss Maggie. Noms!

Pei-Ess, My Grandma has a microwave bowl just like yours!

  28. MAGGIE, your food looks vVERY tastee!!! Being warmed sounds even better. Bet Mitch would like a taste or 2 or 3. We can almost smell it from here. A microwave all your own. One lucky girl!

  29. Yey Maggie's mom is a "good egg". I don't know about Mitch's food though...looks kind of bland next to Maggie's yum, yum meal. If you guys ever want to come over for dinner, we'll have bowls out for you too.

  30. We're so glad your Mom caught on to what you were saying to her.:) We like our food warm too.:)

    Teddy Bear & Sierra

  31. I like the "Old School" green bowl too! Hugs to you all! xo

  32. We are glad that your food is the way you enjoy, Maggie! That sounds yummy!

    Thor and Jack

  33. Wow! You have your own personal microwave! Us older doggies do get a little persnickety about our food. I, Penny, don't woof my food like I used to and after just one bite, I make my mom take the bowl out of my food stand and put it on the floor. Then after every few bites, I make her shake the bowl and put it back down. It's a good thing she understands my language now!

Your food does look very yummy, Maggie!

    Penny (and Patches)

  34. Wow, what a luxury! Its own microwave!
Your mom takes great pains to serve you to really good. You have a great home.

  35. hi maggie!
    oh that looks so yummy!
your mom is a fanatastic cook for people and puppies!
what a special person she is and she sure does love you and mitchy!

  36. That is one smart mom peep you've got there Maggie. To figure out how to make your food "just so" so you'll continue to eat it. My mom peep? Not so much. It took her more than a week to figure out how to get me to take my meds with my food. Geez.

    Arroooo! Stuart

  37. What a great Mum you guys have, our Popster feeds us and he always takes our chicken out of the fridge an hour before so it's room temperature - glad you're enjoying your food again my lovely, Dex and Lou xxx

  38. Oh Maggie
I am so happy that your momma keeps so informed on what to do for you on the special diet. I think its wonderful that you have your very own microwave

  39. CRY!! I'm so touched by your family's loving. And your very own microwave oven, that's so sweet... I wish all owners treat their puppies like your family does.

Cry.. again. I realise that I haven't been appreciating nice warm food for quite some time I think. :P
