A lot of you have been asking how I'm doing. Well, I'm doing just fine.
About 4 days ago, I told mom that she needed to stop the broccoli and cauliflower. I decided that I just didn't like it anymore - so I'm back to butternut squash and onies, along with chicken thighs and hard boiled eggs, of course - and lots of supplements. The good thing is that I haven't missed a meal yet and mom is very happy about this!
I don't run to the kitchen anymore when mom calls me for my meals. I stay on my bed until I feel like moving so I guess you can say that I'm even more of a lady of leisure.
This is the tumor side of my mouth. It oozes sometimes. It's stinky and it's not pretty but mom tells me all the time that I'm beautiful and I smell like lilacs and gardenias and hyacinths and then she hugs me tight!
Miss Elaine suggested these supplements for me to take. We hope that they will shrink my mouth tumor and make it go away.
I still go on my morning walkies - I just don't go too far from home anymore but this isn't new - I haven't walked two miles with mom and dad and Mitch in quite awhile.
Leaving the back steps is a breeze but hopping back up onto my porch when it's time to go back inside is a challenge and I don't like it any longer. I put my front feets on the step and mom picks up my back end and it's working but I still don't like it. I like to do stuff on my own, ya know. This hind end weakness is not fun.
I'm still a very happy girl who loves life. I'm slower to get going in the morning but I do eat my breakie and I finish it all. Daytime is good. I love going out to the workshop with dad and Mitch and hanging out. Dindin is great and the night time is long. We do the best we can, right?
A cupola base update for you. It's finished for now and it has been moved over to the Crump barn. The next phase is the cupola body - the part with the windows!
If dad would have made this base one inch bigger, it never would have made it out the slider door!
Happy Friday the 13th! Stay safe everybody~
So until next time..............
Love ya lots,
Maggie
It is so good to see woo is doing better Miss Maggie! And woo is beewootiful!!! Woo may be moving a little slower, but woo is doing it in great style!

Maggie, you look beautiful no matter what. I am glad things are going good right now and that you are getting lots of good eats.
ReplyDeletelicks and sniffs, Sasha
Miss Maggie,
ReplyDeleteYou can send that broccolli here. I love it (even though it makes me toot). I know how upsetting it can be to have the back end issues. Try to relax and let mom help you with the stairs, OK? Sending relentlessly huge hugs your way.
Slobbers,
Mango
We sure can relate to the issues of not getting around. We are very glad to hear that you are eating all your breakfast and dinner though! That's a good thing. We are supposed to be eating more vegetables, but we don't really like them. We are pretty sure we are going to be forced to eat them though. Hang in there Maggie!!! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug
ReplyDeleteYou are a very good girl Maggie eating up all your din dins. We do hope the supplements Miss Elaine suggested do the trick for you.
ReplyDeleteMolly, Taffy, Monty and Winnie
Good to see you are enjoying your meals Maggie- lots of yummy things to do you good. Hugs for you and Mitch X
ReplyDeleteWe are soooo glad to hear that you are still feeling good and enjoying life! You look beautiful and we hope you keep doing good "eat-em-ups" for a loooong time!
ReplyDeleteBTW, you have as much cool stuffs in your barn, as you have in your house! My mom loooves the set of drawers behind the Indian jacket!
Aire-hugs,
Patches
We are glad that you are feeling well, and we surely hope those supplements can help with the tumor thing.
ReplyDeleteDo you have one of those sling things to help your mom help you up the steps? We think you can get them lots of places, we know Orvis had one in the dog book this year, and think we have seen them at Petsmart. Makes it easier on you and the human, so it says. We will probably be trying it out in a couple of years, because going up steps is not my favorite thing even now.
kisses

Miss Maggie I think you have Erned the right to be a Grand Lady of Leisure. You just do what you WANT and that is how it SHOULD be.
ReplyDeleteI hope the supplements work.
Oh goodness. Maybe Sissy saw this post before I did... she got out of bed to eat, but she asked me to hand-feed her a bit. (She's not fond of dry kibble breakfast. Hem.)

Miss Maggie, Our girl Nina has started to have some hind end weakness too, but at almost 14 years old I guess that is to be expected. That cupola is huge! How will it get to the top of the barn?
ReplyDeleteCindy
One day at a time they say...and enjoy every one of them.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Thank you for the update, Maggie! I'm so glad you're doing good. I think you are Most Strong and ree-zill-yent! And that silly old tumor can't take away from your stunning good looks. Nope, nope, nope!

Maggie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. It is good to know your family are taking good care of you (though we always knew that they would) and that your mum tells you how beautiful and loved you are. We think you are still beautiful and love you lots too.
Your dad's workshop looks interesting. My mum even bigified your photo to see all the intersting stuff he has on the walls. I can see why you enjoy spending time there.
Woofs,
Riley
Hi Maggie
ReplyDeleteI think its important to do things the way that you want to do them.
That is the ways girls are!
And I think you are so beautiful.
I hope the new meds help you.
Your always in my thoughts, and I always send magic bubbles to you so that you can enjoy every day

ReplyDeleteTake it one day at a time, girlfriend.
Love Ruby & Penny
Maggie you are beautiful inside and out - your are just the most amazing lady dog. We hope those supplements help to shrink that nasty old tumor a bit...and maybe you should suggest to your mom to put a plank or two of wood down on those steps to act as a ramp for you....I am sure you have plenty of wood in your dad's workshop and it would probably help your Mom's back too :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sweet Maggie,
ReplyDeleteHi Sweet Sue,
Maggie is today the same age Bambi was when she went to the bridge!!!
I miss her so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I read about Maggie and I cry for Bambi!!!!
It only lasts a little while. Zoie helps a lot!!!!
Hang in their Maggie but when you are ready we will understand........
Love you guys, Fern
Howdy Maggie, you are totally entitled to move as slow as you like. Gives everyone more time to admire you as you stroll along. Mum says you have the face of a sweetie pie and there is an exquisite joy in living with an older girl. You have made mum's eyes leaky cause she thinks you are very special. Take care all. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory (and Carol)
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Maggie. As long as you're eating and taking an interest in what's happening around you--even from the vantage point of bed, then it's all good. Keep truckin'
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & roxy
You rock Maggie! Please take care and know that you are very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKeep eating, keep walking, and keep being your Mom's special girl!

ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Hi Maggie, my dad explained stuff to me a little bit and he says that your mom loves you more than just about anything else. We know your mom is right when she tells you that you are beautiful and smell like lilacs, gardenias and hyacinths. And funny thing is, my dad says that I smell like spring and summer, then he hugs me and says that I'm his boy. Maybe your dad could build a little ramp so you don't have to jump up onto your porch. My dad says that I could roll up it so that I could go on walkies with you. Sound good?
ReplyDeleteOh Maggie!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you are doing okay. I've been thinking about you a lot. Sounds like things are improving somewhat and that you are feeling better, except for the old age stuff. But, being a senior citizen does have its perks. It's nice being spoiled, so I hear.
Hang in there, Sweetie. You are doing great!
Love and Lots of Koobuss Kisses,
Koobie
Dearest Maggie!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are doing well, eating well and taking life leisurely as you should.
TY for the heads up re Reilly's new TCT meme - we can combine the colours next week then he can call the shots, I'll step down - guess I should be flattered that my idea/meme started years ago still has legs!
Love, and pats & pets

It's true--you are a beautiful girl, Maggie. I think it's hard for your people right now; just keep reminding them that Airedales know how to have a good time, no matter what.
ReplyDeleteTom built a ramp for Joker years and years ago that we still use at our back door. I love that ramp!!!!
ReplyDeleteJoker didn't do stairs like Maggie doesn't!!
Love you lots, Fern
Maggie it's been too long! I love broccoli so if you need help eating it just let me know. I hope you're feeling alright; sorry I've been so out of touch but you know it's hard to get Mom out of that darned FB of hers!
ReplyDeleteLove
Rudy
Maggie, you are such a beautiful girl! I'm glad you are eating like you should. It's so important. My grand dog, Luke, is a big dog, not sure really what kind, but he is 14 years old and has a really rough time with his hind legs. They basically just don't work anymore. He's such a good old boy, he still gets around pretty well and for sure doesn't miss a meal. I'm sending you lots of healing love through the blogisphere.
ReplyDeleteMaggie,
ReplyDeleteKeep on keepin' on, we luvs you. :) We is still sendin' extra boxer puppy prayers too.
Woofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae and Max
Maggie,
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration, with your amazing attitude and loving humans. The love in your family comes shining through in your posts. Keep snuggling and having fun with them!

ReplyDeleteMaggie...you are beautiful!!! Your buddy Zippy is going in tomorrow for a teeth cleaning and extraction. He is having some mouth troubles too. Thinking of you and sending hugs.
ReplyDeleteMaggie,
ReplyDeleteAre you on COQ 10? Our grampa's heart dog, Toby, was put on that for his cancer. And, mushrooms. Grampa said it helped him so, so much. And, he didn't get to have carbs or sugars either.
We hope you eat, eat and keep up your strength.
Sending lots of woofs, licks and love your way.
Zita and Dudley
