Since we last posted, which was Friday, my condition has gone very far downhill. I continue to be tipsy and I bump into lots of things. I have fallen quite a few times - soft falls - so I haven't gotten hurt. I climbed the stairs on Friday night and mom has no idea how I ever accomplished that feat but I did it because I'm stubborn and determined and I crashed and was banging into everything on second floor. Dad tried to help me into my bed and I got frustrated and I went over to bed #2 and got frustrated there too. I decided that downstairs was better so dad helped me down the stairs. This all happened at 11:30 pm and for the rest of the night, I wandered around downstairs bumping into so many things. I didn't want any special attention and I didn't want to be coddled and hugged. I want to do things "my way"! Mom and dad really thought this was the end for me.
So now it's time for Saturday walkies and I wanted to go the entire way and mom and dad both said okay.
I made it and I had a great time! I did topple off the curb and my leg did slide into the catch basin but it was okay. Rainbow Bridge is not ready for me yet!
I was really zonked. It's funny. I'm so tired and yet my body keeps telling me to go, go, go. Mom had an idea to ask me to "sit" and then do a "down". It worked! She asks me to go peepee's all the time and that doesn't seem to work anymore. Molly and I are both trained to pee on command and we do. Mom says that it does have its advantages.
I like being outside. There isn't as much to bump into and maybe the fresh Aire helps my confused head~
It's fun exploring. I have to wear my harness all the time now. Mom and dad both use it to direct me and to hopefully, keep me from falling so much.
Can we please stay outside all day, mom. I'm having fun~
Mom reads articles on the internet a lot and I seem to have a lot of brain tumor symptoms but my vet never said that. This is mom's diagnosis and not those of the professionals.
Mom and dad want me to be happy and pain-free. One day at a time.....
So for now~
Love ya lots♥
Mitch
Aww Mitch...we really feel for you buddy. And for your family. It is so hard when you just aren't quite yourself. We are sending lots and lots of POTP that you will feel better. Rest up buddy...hope you get some air today! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug
ReplyDeleteOne day at a time here too Mitch. Muzzer tells me every day that old dogs are the best dogs, and I believe her. Right now she is my biggest job, I'm trying to keep her from stressing about the possible move to a new house closer to dad's office. In return she is helping me too, with a new harness (yup) and a couple of other adaptive tools. I even have a new dining table of my very own, because when I bend over, my legs slip away and I end up falling down. We read your blog for hints and help, and of course for your beautiful flowers. Kisses for your Mom and Dad, and many thanks for all the inspiration (and recipes) Gus
