On Friday, mom spent time outside cutting the grass and raking and weeding. When she came back inside and looked out the picture window, she noticed that Mrs Robin's nest was tilted at a funny angle. She headed back outside with the camera. She was not surprised to see the damaged eggs.
The morning of the Coronation of King Charles, she looked outside and saw Mrs Robin sitting at the edge of her destroyed nest and she cried for Mrs Robin's hurt. She's still coming back and it makes us feel so sad.The Coronation was a fabulous event. We were up at 4am and saw the entire six hours of it but we feel so horrible for Mrs Robin. Hopefully, she won't choose that spot again next year.
Congratulations to Mage, the winner of the 149th Kentucky Derby! What an exciting race it was!
Have a marvelous Monday!
Love ya lots♥
Molly
That is sad for the robin. Mom checks on our duck, Missy, and her eggs every day. They should be hatching in a week or so if our calculations are correct.
ReplyDeletewe are with you that is so sad for mrs. robin, sometimes nature is very hard , sigh.... we watched the coronation too... it was impressing to see princess anne on her horse in this bad weather and all the people who waited outside of the church... that is very nice to stand with the king even in hail and storm and rain...
ReplyDeleteOh Mrs Robin, can you try again please dear ... find a safer home.

ReplyDeleteMy heart aches a little for Mrs Robin's loss... maybe you need to plan to have something in that spot next year so she can't make the same mistake again. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Sometimes Mother Nature makes it hard on our humans -
ReplyDeleteOur pal Shellly - aka Summi's Mummi had a bird build a nest on a tire - luckily Shelly noticed it - and there were no eggs yet so she relocated it to a better spot -
We are glad you enjoyed The Crowning!

Same thing happened at our house with Mrs. Dove. So sad.
ReplyDeleteYou're mot adorable, Miss Molly.
I linked you to Awww Mondays as always.
Have a woof woof day and week, Miss Molly. My best to your mom. ☻
Lulu: "Aww, poor Mrs. Robin! We hope she has better luck next year!"
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "I remember once a hummingbird made a nest in the dangling parts of an Amazon sunrise plant right outside the bedroom. That didn't work out so well either ..."
OH no I'm so sorry about Mrs. Robin. I hope and purr she can heal and incubate or Robin Blue eggs.
ReplyDeleteWe DVR'd the coronation for 6 hours. But for some reason the dvr did not tape the balcony wave.
Maybe it was delayed due to the rain
Hugs Cecilia
We also feel sorry for the Robin....With all the birds we see, we have yet to find a nest.
ReplyDeleteYou are looking pretty today Molly!

We're sad to see what happened to Mrs. Robin's nest but maybe she will lay some new ones and have better luck.
ReplyDeleteSo sad, but it is the way of life:(. We hope Mama Robin has another chance this season to have a family.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Yes, that is very sad for Mama Robin, we get mighty sad when things like that happen.
ReplyDeleteI would rather the robin had her babies than England had a king.
ReplyDeleteOh, too bad for Mrs. Robin! Our robin abandoned her nest over the lamp in front of our garage. Apparently there was way too much coming and going by Dad and the work guys installing things lately. I'm sure she found a more secretive and quiet place to make a new nest.
ReplyDeleteOh no, it is so heart breaking to see this. We had it happen in our garden with some blackbirds. The Coronation was wonderful to see and congratulations to Mage for winning the big race. Hugs & Love, Susie & Coco xx
