Tomorrow is dad's annual tour of barns. No, we don't get to go on the tour but we get to clean up after the students have left to go on the tour. We kinda call it Dunkin' Donuts day and our paws are crossed that SOMEBODY leaves one donut for us to share!
Today, we helped mom make snickerdoodle cookies.
The unbaked cookies get rolled in a cinnamon sugar mixture before you bake them.
They sure do smell yummy!
See those last 2 cookies to the far left - the ones without the cinnamon sugar. Those are for me and Molly. I'm hoping that I get the bigger one. I should seeing as I'm the oldest, right?
Score!
Molly got one too but mom missed the shot because Molly was too fast for her!
Maybe the students won't like them and there will be more for us, Molly. Cross your paws!
We're off to help mom find cups and plates and napkins.
Tomorrow will be a fun day!
So until next time.............
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly

Timber Frame Weekend
Dad's timber frame class starts today. The night before timber frame class weekend begins is always Pepe's pizza night for whoever wants to go. Our paws were raised but unfortunately, we weren't invited. booooooooooo
The original clam pizza - mom's favorite~
Half of this one is mozzarella cheese and the other half is shrimp, bacon and garlic. Four hoomans ate all but 4 pieces. And did the 4 pieces come home to our house? No. They went home with Kevin. It was his first ever trip to Pepe's and he had a great time!
Next door to Pepe's is Libby's.
If you like Italian desserts, you have a VERY difficult time deciding which one to choose! Dad, Frank and Kevin all had Italian ice. Mom decided to go calorie-free for dessert and just take pictures!
Dad had grape ice. The ice is more grey than purple and dad says that it was delicious. He brought home a pint of root beer ice so we'll be sure to get a taste of that!
Yes, we did get pizza bones! Piggy mom didn't save us any of hers but our new bestest friend Kevin did! Thank you so much, Kevin! You are a true friend! Unfortunately, the flash didn't go off so there is no evidence but trust us - we got pizza! yummmmmmmmm
So until next time......

Raking With Mom
Mom asked me if I would hang out with her while she raked behind the lumber barn. Sure, of course, mom!
Dad put a new stone foot bridge across the brook for us so we could cross without getting our feets wet. The metal one that we had before broke. This one is nice and solid, dad!
Aren't the daffies pretty in front of the lumber barn?
There's Buster! Do you see him in between the trees?
He's doing okay. He spends time in the water with the other birds and he spends time on the shore, not far from the water. Thank you so much for all of your love and support. We miss Gussie every single day.
The Flintstone Barnacles and one of the Grey Lag geese. We have 5 Grey Lag geese now.
Margaret and Penny and one of the fatassloudmouths. You never see Margaret without this fatbutt goose swimming right alongside her. She adores Margaret!
Enough of the waterfowl.
Can you see that I have a leaf in my beard? I'm resting on a wonderfully cool pile of leaves that mom raked just for me.
I found lots of sticks to chew on.
And I discovered that skunk cabbage stinks and I like it. Mom missed the picture but I roughed up the skunk cabbage and threw myself on top of it and rolled around on top of it like it was poo and I continued to lay there like a hussy with my Airelegs spread for all the world to see! Skunk cabbage is really cool stuff!
Time for some playbows and tuckbuttruns!
Here I come, mom, ready or not!
I'll help you rake anytime, mom! I sure had fun!
So until next time.......
Love ya lots,
Molly

Very Sad News
To our friend, Lisa, who reads our blog - please don't read any further~~
We are pretty upset - our dad most of all. His beloved Gussie, his precious black swan was found - actually, Gussie wasn't found - a pile of feathers and a pool of blood was found.
Mom went to check on Buster, Gussie's mate. The pictures are blurry because Buster was moving quickly and probably not sure what to make of any of this. We know that he is lost and misses Gussie. The boys were best buddies.
Buster wouldn't come over to the shore. He's heading back to Gilligan's Island to search. We feel as horrible for Buster as we do for Gussie. Just to let you all know, Gussie didn't lose his life on Gilligan's Island. He and Buster were back up at this end of the pond where dad feeds them. Every couple of days, when the boys got hungry, they'd come back up and eat dindin and head back to the other end of the pond for the rest of the time. They were very happy back there all alone.
We think that a predator approached and Gussie was protecting Buster and lost his life doing so. Gussie was only 2 years old.
Fly high, Gussie. You were a beautiful boy.
Myrtle is waiting to welcome you at Rainbow Bridge. You will be together forever.
We'll miss you.
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly, Mom, Dad and Buster

And the Winner Is
We checked the blog at 5:10 PM tonight and there were 33 comments. Mom wanted to copy and paste the results of the randomizer in this posting, but she's not very techy and couldn't figure out how to do it.
Anyway, the randomizer picked comment #10 as our winner and sitting in the #10 spot is Sam, our wheelie friend in Canada!
Whoooooohoooooooooooo - congratulations, Sam!
There is no need for you to send us your address, Sam. We already have it because you sent us the most beautiful Christmas card and we saved it! If you've never met Sam and his sibs, Owen, Tuvia and Jetta, go say hi. They are a great bunch!
Thank you to everyone who left a comment! We wish you could have all been winners! We'll suggest to our mom that we have another give-away one day soon!
So until next time...........
Love ya lots

The Candle Mat Give-Away
Our mom has discovered from watching You Tube videos how to make the perfect french knot so she's been going french knot nutty!
The strawberry seeds and the flower centers are french knots.
Look alive, Molly - you're supposed to be modeling the give-away candle mat!
This will be our first time using the randomizer so please leave only one comment so it's fair to everybody. This give-away is open to everyone. You do not have to live in the USA. The give-away will start now and end on Wednesday at 5PM EST.
Ready, set, GO!
We'll be back in a couple of days to announce the winner! Good luck!
Remember the cupola that dad and mom have been working on at Crumpie's?
Dad and his helpers delivered it to Rhode Island yesterday. That's the barn that it will go on that's in the background. The raising will be sometime in July.
So until next time............

The Candle Mat Projects
Mom has been having a blast making these candle mats.
She can't seem to stop!
Mom doesn't sell the candle mats. She makes them as gifts, or keeps them or donates them.
We've decided to have a candle mat give-away so be sure to visit again for details!
So until next time..............

The Black Swans
On Good Friday, dad opened the fence at the water end of their pen and set the black swans free. They have been having a blast exploring all over the land, in the brook and all over the pond. Don't laugh, but Buster thinks he's a girl and Gussie is the protective male. They're both male swans.
Before dad let them out of their pen, they made a nest out of their sawdust bedding and Buster was pretending to be a "mom". The story gets even more funny but unfortunately, we don't have a picture so you have to use your imagination. The NY bathtub black duckies sneaked into Buster and Gussie's pen one morning and one of the females laid an egg in Buster's nest. So now Buster had an egg to hatch! The black duckies have been laying eggs all winter long and something keeps eating them. Dad let Buster play "mom" for a few days and then he removed the egg. He thought it would be best.
Getting back to the story, Tuesday morning, Gussie and Buster didn't come for breakie and dad was worried. He checked on them all day long and no black swans so after dindin, he got into his canoe and headed to the back of the pond to try to find them. He had help from Penny and Margaret. Dad was whistling and calling to them and they answered faintly but loudly enough that we heard them and knew which direction to head in.
Mom decided that being on the left hand side of the pond was not doing her a bit of good because the black swan peep was coming from the right hand side of the pond so around the pond she went. It takes about 5 minutes to walk from one side of the pond to the other side.
These are the black duckies that dad rescued from the NY bathtub. They're free too and having a great time. This is breeding season and the male was chasing mom trying to bite her. Why does he look like he's laughing!
Mom saw skunk cabbage along the way and had to take a picture.
They they are! Gussie and Buster are happy as larks playing Gilligan's Island back here all by themselves. They're on their own mini island with mucky water surrounding them.
Dad goes back twice a day to make sure they're safe and still having fun and they are!
So until next time.............

Mr Chewy Rocks
Look what came in the mail for us!
Our mom decided that it was time to switch kibble brands. We were eating Fromm and now we'll be enjoying Taste of the Wild!
Mom read that this particular Taste of the Wild was a 5-star food.
Did you find the five stars, Molly?
A case of tripe came with the kibble! That Mr Chewy sure knows how to please us!
We don't have to worry about running out of tripe for quite awhile!
You are our bestest friend ever, Mr Chewy!
Love ya lots,

Pukka's Promise
We won Bocci's give-away last week. The prize was a book called Pukka's Promise. Mom says this book is going to be full of good info to help us live longer!
We have finished the first chapter and we are thrilled with it and can't wait to read more!
Thank you so much, Bocci, for choosing our names! This book is going to be a winner - we just know it!
Mom was raking and picking up sticks outside over the Easter weekend and couldn't help but smile at the beauty of spring around us!
I think this means that the snow is gone for the year. Happy April 1st!
So until next time.........
