Nature Friday

We are joining Rosey this week for Nature Friday~~

We did get out a few times this week and some days were colder and frostier than others.

We did find Andromeda in her Christmas colors!
Not sure what tree this leaf belongs too but it sure is pretty and it's actually more vibrant when you see it in person.
Mom's Christmas cactus is in bloom - even though she snips the new growth off the leaf tips all the time to keep the plant in bounds.   I guess when it's time to bloom - it blooms no matter what!

Happy Friday, everybuddy!

Tasty Tuesday

Mom had yogurt that she needed to use so she searched for a recipe for yogurt muffins and she found a winner!

  • 2 cups (275g) good quality flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup (100g) sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup (100ml) light olive oil -    *we used vegetable oil*
  • 1 cup (250ml) unsweetened yogurt (if using Greek yogurt, add 1 tbsp milk or buttermilk)
  • about 1 1/2 cups of your choice of mixed fruit (should weigh about 320g) I used plums, chopped peaches and blueberries
  • Demerara or Swedish pearl sugar to top, if desired

Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
    2. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a large bowl.
    3. Stir in the sugar.
    4. In a separate bowl or measuring jug, whisk together: eggs, oil, and yogurt, until smooth.
    5. Pour the yogurt mixture into the dry ingredients.
    6. Slowly stir the yogurt mixture into the dry ingredients in the large bowl, until just combined. DO NOT OVER STIR, it will make the muffins too dense.
    7. Gently stir in the mixed fruit, with just a few turns, then fill the muffin cups or greased and floured loaf tin. Sprinkle with a little Swedish sugar or raw sugar (demerara) if desired, for a crunchy top.
    8. Bake for about 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
  1. *******Mom didn't use plums, peaches and blueberries because she didn't have them but she did use frozen cranberries and dates and she also added 1/2 teaspoon of orange peel,  a pinch of nutmeg and cinnamon.

    1. I've had yogurt lots of times before and I do love it!
      Just out of the oven~~
      My turn to TasteTest~

The muffins are moist and yummy and this recipe is a keeper for sure.

    2. Happy Tuesday, everybuddy and what an irritating post with all of these stoopid numbers!!

Molly Monday

I have the bestest mom ever.  Look at the size of this container of treats!    I also have to thank Auntie Lisa for steering mom in this direction.   You are the greatest, Auntie Lisa!

Mom used the muffin tin for my challenge this time.   I have no problem playing ball with mom with fetching it and bringing it back to her but for some reason, I never learned about "taking" an object.   We need to work on that.
The one ball that I did take was my tennis ball! ☺
I'm in action and you can see that I need to learn to "take".

On our walk on Saturday, I met an AireBoy named Teddy.    He was Mackie's brother!  Miss Kim rehomed him to the peeps that live next door to her.  They have 2 young children so now, Teddy has a new family and he still gets to see his "before" family and we couldn't be any happier for him.
We artsied up the photo a wee bit hoping that I didn't look so blurry~
We are having very high winds this morning so fingers and paws crossed that our power stays on♥
Happy Monday!

Nature Friday

Thank you, Rosy, for this week and every week for having the most beautiful Nature Fridays~~

We've had some very cool mornings this week.    I used to wear my coat when it got down into the teens but mom says that because I'm getting older,  I can now wear my coat when it's in the 20's.   I love wearing my coat!

We love seeing the grasses this time of year.
They look so soft!
We discovered this ornamental kale near a mailbox.     What a vibrant color!
The leaves have frost on them~

Happy Friday, everbuddy!

Which List Am I On

Mom found the Christmas tree on the floor when she got up yesterday morning and it didn't make her happy.

I didn't expect this to happen, Santa.    I hope that I'm still on your "nice" list.

A very truly sorry,
Molly

Molly Monday

Christmas pressies arrived for me last night!  We have to give Amazon a SuperThumbs-up as the weather was horrible.  We got almost 5 inches of rain and at times, it was pounding the roof and keeping both of us wide awake!

You know that I have symptoms of doggy dementia, aka Canine Cognitive Dysfuncion.  Mom was reading that it's a good thing to keep my brain more active so she bought me new interactive toys.    She found this on sale at Amazon.

I love the way she laughs as she's loading the toy with treats for me to find.
I can't believe she thinks I'm that dumb!
Me in action~~
That was fun!
Thank you for the early Christmas pressie, mom.  When do I get the work the next one!

Nature Friday

We are joining Sunny this week for Nature Friday~~

We did walk each day this week - not far but we were out there.

We found shriveling berries~
I found lots of great smells!
This is a Chinese Lantern in mom's garden.   We love the lacy look!
The book that we posted about here was a total bust.   Mom read about half of it and very little was about the dog and that was the end of wasting her time on that book.

This book grabbed her from the start and she couldn't put it down.  It is a winner and we highly recommend it!
Happy Friday, everybuddy!

Molly Monday

Mom was shopping for personalized ornies on Etsy a couple of weeks ago and she hit on one that she really liked!

The story goes that she ordered it and waited and waited and tracked it and it wasn't moving.  So she wrote to Etsy to ask the seller a question and Etsy intervened and told her that the seller wasn't selling anymore and Etsy refunded mom's $$.
So mom ordered another personalized ornie because she was so disappointed to hear about the first one.
The second personalized ornie shows up  and mom is happy and then the next day,  the first personalized ornie shows up and mom is twice as happy☺
So now we have two ornies - a Christmas one and a winter one!

Happy Monday, everybuddy!

Nature Friday

We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday~~

I'm back to walking!   I don't go far and I'm actually doing more sniffing than walking.

We love the artistic vine!
Autumn leaves are everywhere~
Our Juniper has tons of pretty blue berries!
Mom found these mushrooms next to a tree stump while she was raking.
This is her latest puzzle.     Notice the front of the box.
The box front doesn't show the entire puzzle!
Happy Friday, everybuddy, and Happy December First!
