A snappy turtle! This one was relatively small. We find some that are so big that we have to cover them with a wheel barrow to contain them. We have ducks in our pond and this time of year the mallards and geese all have little ones. Snapping turtles are mean and vicious (yes, I know they have to eat too - but do it somewhere else!) and they kill the ducklings and goslings and it makes the hoomans sad!
So dad caught Snappy and put him in the back of the pick-up. Mitch is keeping an eye on him while mom gets Maggie. 
We're going to relocate him to another pond so he can have all the fish that he wants and no ducks!

Yup, he made it into the mucky yuck just fine!
So off we go to Wentworth's! Mom has decided that she wants strawberry ice cream this time! There were lots of people there! The place was packed! So many people and dogs to see and bark at!
Mom didn't get any pictures of us chowin' down on the ice cream but trust me - we got our share or you know we'd squeal to you guys just to let you know how unfair the whole thing is! We totally enjoyed our strawberry ice cream and Snappy has a new home!All is well!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad your dad helped Mr. Turtle find a new home; that was VERY nice of him! Our daddy was driving in our Siberian Utility Vee=hicle today and saw a turtle crossing a busy road!!! I don't know if he was a snappy turtle or not, I wasn't there. But Dad was worried he'd get hit by another vee-hicle, so he stopped and got out and helped him cross the street. Dads are GREAT!!!!!!

oh my snappy turtles look scary! I am glad we dont have those here. we dont have any mucky yuck or brooks either tho! but I do know we have ice cream and I never get to go out for any!
