I Like It Hot

I recently decided that I no long wanted my food served cold right out of the refrigerator.
Mom was serving it  and I was giving her a pleading look and it was breaking her heart.  She was afraid that one day I would decide that I didn't want to eat anymore and she didn't want that to happen.
This is what goes on in our kitchen while mom is preparing our meals.
Yes, I'm the instigator and Mitch is only too happy to go along with whatever I dish out!

Heck!  My food is more tasty than his and I have no problem rubbing it in!
Which bowl would you prefer?
I rest my case!

Mom is on the Yahoo K9 Kidney group and the Kidney Diet Group and the word is that eventually we kidney dogs may not like the taste or texture of one of our foods or the temperature that our food is served to us and we'll refuse to eat it.

Mom hasn't had a microwave oven in quite awhile because all she used it for was for popcorn and for storage purposes.
I now have my own microwave oven - just for me!!!!

Now when mom puts my food down in front of me, I thank her and I woof it down almost as fast as Mitch does!   I love my food warmed up!
 I enjoy every single morsel.
And I lick my bowl clean!
What?  I have a piece of rice on my nose?
Thank you for warming my food for me each meal, mom.  It sure does make me happy!

Love ya lots,
Maggie

  1. you have got your Mom trained just right Maggie - warm food is so much nicer. I trained my Mom to do that from when I was a puppy - it is the natural way really. Dogs in the wild don't have refrigerated food - it is always warm.

  2. We like out food warm too! Plus we get different dishes all the time - D has a set of Royal Doulton bowls that she uses just for us! Your Mom is so good to listen to you - your own personal microwave and chef! What luxury -

  6. You are one wise Canine, Miss Maggie. If your Mom has ever tried to eat cold rice, she'd know it's not very tasty!! It's much better warmed up.

  11. Phantom is like that too. One day he likes his canned food room temp right out of the can and other days he likes it out of the fridge. And some days he doesn't want it at all:(

YOu have a great Mom who not only warms your food, but she also makes you some pawesome meals too.

    Happy Sunday.

  12. Mugsy was like that in his ... senior years too. He had the Knight convinced he couldn't eat his kibble if it wasn't soaked a bit in very warm water first...

  18. Tsar likes his food warmed up, too. We have a microwave in the garage to heat his dinner. Actually, Tsar has a delicate tummy that can't handle really cold food. If he eats something freezing cold, it makes him vomit.

What your mom doesn't use microwave really tells us she is an excellent cook!!! (which we've always known.) You're lucky pups. :) :)

  33. Wow! You have your own personal microwave! Us older doggies do get a little persnickety about our food. I, Penny, don't woof my food like I used to and after just one bite, I make my mom take the bowl out of my food stand and put it on the floor. Then after every few bites, I make her shake the bowl and put it back down. It's a good thing she understands my language now!

Your food does look very yummy, Maggie!

    Aire-hugs,
    Penny (and Patches)

  36. That is one smart mom peep you've got there Maggie. To figure out how to make your food "just so" so you'll continue to eat it. My mom peep? Not so much. It took her more than a week to figure out how to get me to take my meds with my food. Geez.
