Tasty Tripe

I got my very first taste of tripe last Thursday.  We chose to go with the sheepie tripe first. Can you see my eyes and my smile?  This is good stuff!
Mom was a little bit worried about popping off the top of the can and being overwhelmed by the aroma - some of you did sorta comment that this stuff is potent.
Mom says that the best way she can describe it being at the Durham Fair in the cattle barn and one of the cows takes a nice big dump and you just happen to be right behind him.

I just happen to think this is a fabulous treat and I just can't get enough of it!
It was good to the last lick and I sure wish My Maggie would have been right beside me enjoying it just as much as I did.
Thank you so much again, Miss Elaine. What a treat this was!  I can't wait to taste the deer tripe and the cow tripe and mom can't wait to see if they smell worse or better!

So until next time.........

Love ya lots,
Mitch

  18. Oh my gosh! We are never in blog land any more these days, but we just popped into Asta's blog to see how her move went and saw that Maggie passed. So sorry to hear about your loss. She was a lovely, lovely girl and I'm so happy Sophie and I got to meet her. I will always remember Maggie wanting Sophie to play with her. So sweet. Hugs to both of you and to Mitchy, who I'm sure is also mourning the loss of his sister.

    All our best,

  26. Hilarious! Stinky food = googly eyes!
We love stinky food (think dead fish on the canal bank) and usually try to roll in it. But we've never had tripe. Bet it was goooood.

  27. Wow, Mitch! Your googly eyes and toothy smile say it ALL! My mom kind of figured the tripe would be STINKY stuff! Back in the early 70's, my mom had a boyfriend who's father ate tripe. She couldn't even walk into his house when it was cooking! She's pretty sure the neighbors could smell it too! We're glad you enjoyed it, though!

    Aire-hugs,
    Patches

  29. Cow smells are bearable--in a cow barn. Your mom is brave, Mitch, to introduce it into the house. I'm not surprised that you find it a gourmet delight 'cause dogs love stinky things!
(I'm so sorry about Maggie; I didn't see the news until recently. How terribly quiet the place must seem!)
