Nature Friday

We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday~~

The hail storm made quite a mess in both people's yards and in the street.  Dying green leaves are down everywhere and mom says it smells wonderful!

You will notice that I'm wearing a Halti head collar.   Mom is fed up with me pulling her along on our walks.   Yesterday was my best day yet wearing this evil thing.  I love my walks and I have to learn to put up with it until mom can trust me in a harness and not pull.  We will get there~

The Sedum is coming into bloom~
This is JewelWeed and mom says that it's the absolute hardest flower to photograph.  Her pictures always seem to come out blurry and it's really just the prettiest flower.
At home, our Rose of Sharon's are still flowering away!
This is her latest puzzle.   She said that it's one of the hardest ones she's ever done.   I could hear her cheering for getting one piece in place as I was playing☺
Happy Friday, everyone!
Love ya lots♥
Duke

I hope you get better at walking beside mum, Duke. Chivalrous behaviour becomes your noble name! That puzzle looks evil, but well done mum! Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx

  3. We love your jewel weed and all the other lovely flowers.
We know you will master the not pulling on the lead thing sooner or later Duke I was complete fail at this in puppy class but now I'm a good boy and rarely pull (unless there's an exceptionally interesting smell nearby ...)

  4. Duke what a lovely selection you have for us today. For sure you don't want to pull mom down so well done 'adjusting' to the current walking requirements.
AS FOR THE PUZZLE, YOUR MOM HAS THE VERY BEST HAND EYE COORDINATION OF ANYONE I KNOW. IT IS A LOVELY PUZZLE

  5. Those are such beautiful flowers, Duke. We hope the Halti helps you and your mom to enjoy your walks. That sure looks like a tough puzzle just from the colors, but our mom noticed that except for the edge pieces all the pieces are the same shape which would make it doubly hard!

  7. Wow what a lot of leaves have come down. The Sedum looks wonderful. Treacle had to have a head colar when she was young but learnt that it was better on a harness when she was a bit older but Coco has been fine on her harness from a puppy. So funny how different they all are. I am sure Duke will learn soon. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs & Love, Susie & Coco xx

  9. Loving the slightly cooler temperatures, it enables us to enjoy the remaining Summer days. Hoping to take Ryder on a nice long walk today. (Well, he will be in his cart, I’ll do the majority of the walking, lol)

  10. Sorry for you having to wear that thing. Mom lets us just pull until at some point we stop doing it all the time. Pretty flowers you found there. We've had some bad storms, but just trees down, no hail. Our trees are all still standing. Have a great holiday weekend.

  13. Timber has to wear his Gentle Leader too. Most of the time he walks just fine, but if he spots a squirrel or a rabbit, the pull is on. Love the sedum. And Mom is quite intrigued by that puzzle. We wonder how many hours it took to get it done.

  16. Duke we so etimes watch an English TV program called Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly, and although we love the successes they convey and the speed at which they apparently achieve change, we suspect some editing. And despite your halti I feel absolutely certain you wouldn't qualify as behaving badly enough to be a candidate. Give your mum a break. You will enjoy your walks more too. 😊😍

  17. Dear Duke and Mom, thanks for your ever so healing Nature Friday. Now I know there are so many flowers I've never seen. I'm very inspired by Mom remembering their names, she's like a flower fairy. That puzzle looks real tough so I'm cheering for Mom's good job. You do well too by not getting to excited, be gentle with Mom~💕

I'll remember to smell the fallen leaves,
    Julia💗
