Tasty Tuesday
Mom has wanted to make Apple Crisp for a bit now and she had the perfect excuse. Landlady Linda came to visit. She was mom and Molly's landlady when they live in the apartment with the fenced in yard.
Stop teasing me, mom. These apples are fake!
The recipe:
- 6 golden delicious apples, peeled and chopped (other varieties can be used, can also be sliced)
- 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon, divided
- 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, diced into small cubes
- pinch of kosher salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F degrees. Butter an 8×8 baking dish, or spray with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add chopped apples, granulated sugar, 3/4 tsp of the cinnamon and lemon juice. Stir to combine, then transfer to prepared baking dish.
- In a separate mixing bowl, add topping ingredients (brown sugar, oats, flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, salt, and diced cold butter). Use a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the oat mixture, using a slight downward twisting motion, until mixture resembled pea-sized crumbs. Alternatively, you can use two forks or even your hands to cut butter into the mixture.
- Spread topping over apples in baking dish, and gently pat to even it out. Bake 40-50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
- Sorry that the picture is blurry. I love apples!!
- In the pan and ready for the oatmeal topping!
- Ready to bake in the oven~
Out of the oven - it smells so wonderful! - The tasteTest~
Miss Linda brought mom a solar windchime that she couldn't wait to hang outside~- We had a great visit and I got to meet the lady that Molly knew so many years ago and she wanted so much to touch me but nope, I wouldn't let her. I kept scampering away when she got too close.

Nature Friday
We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday~~
First off, mom had an issue with small photos VS large photos. She figured out that she had added a photo file inside an existing photo file and that was not a good thing and she will be certain that it doesn't happen again.
We passed by these yummy mushrooms and I wasn't allowed to be anywhere near them. How rude is that!
We found beautiful mums in bloom~We found this beauty and mom didn't know for sure what it was so we looked it up. It's a Rudbeckia. We found hot pink |Asters~You've probably noticed that I wear different harnesses or training devices on different weeks. I'm still pulling mom along and she's not happy about it. She's deciding that the prong collar is working best so far. Mom says that Molly wore it and so does Mackie and so did Mitch so I might be stuck with it for a bit longer.Thursday, September 19, 2024

Wordy Wednesday
This is mom's latest puzzle. I didn't hear too many HBO words so it must have been a fun one although, it did arrive with a missing piece😒
The apple puzzle she has done 2-3 times before and each time, she swears she will never work it again but she changes her mind once the pieces are safely back in the box. There were many many HBO words being said as mom was working this one!Happy Wednesday, everyone!Love ya lots♥Sunday, September 15, 2024
