She's Leaving Us

Mom is leaving us to fly to Florida to visit with our gram and gramp! She is flying out tomorrow with one of her bestest friends, Miss Donna, who just happens to be Marty the Cairn Terrier's mom! How lucky is this that they're on the same flight and sitting next to each other! Both girls are taking their knitting on the plane and they'll be chatting away happy as larks and they won't even miss us!
Gram is very excited that mom is coming and says that they'll have lots of fun together! We're sad that mom will be gone for 6 whole days!

Dad has promised us Glenwood for burgers and fries and we're going to hold him to his word!

Yesterday mom made cheesebread! One loaf for dad while she's gone and one loaf she'll take to gram! It's a surprise! shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Gram loves mom's cheesebread! See the loaf in the front that's the browner one? (Dad's loaf is gluten-free. That's why the color is so different) That one is for gram. This recipe was supposed to make two loafs and mom didn't want to bring gram a skimpy loaf so she plopped all that batter into one pan! It was running over the sides in the oven while it was baking! OOPS!

To get the loaf out of the pan mom had to cut all of the extra that ran over the sides! That's where I come in! We don't want to waste any of that homemade bread, do we, mom! So now gram will get a nice big loaf of cheesebread!Mom has decided that she's going to wait till she comes back from Florida to call the vet to make any surgery appointment for me. In the meantime, she's been applying Bag Balm to my booboo mole. She hoping that when she comes home the following Monday, I'll be all healed and she won't have to make that call! My paws are crossed!

So until next time...................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

  1. That cheese bread looks very yummy!...with or without the gluten! We hope the bag balm does the trick! Our pawrents use it for lots of stuff. We hope your mom has safe and fun trip! And we hope you two don't cry at the door until she gets home. I, Poppy sit in front of the door that Mom left through and cry until she comes back IN the door. It doesn't matter whether it's 5 minutes or 5 days! Happy flying, M & M's mom!

  5. maggie and mitch: At our house, it is some thing in a stick that Dr.Burt and his bees make for baby rashes, then tea tree oil, then the vet! Let us know if the bag balm works, muzzer uses it on hands sometimes, so there is a big can in the kitchen. (Yummy)

Tell your mom to have a safe trip, and to look up Jake and Just Harry while she is there. Oh, and Bussie and his mom.

  61. Hi Maggie,

Sorry to hear that your mom is going away for so long, but look at it this way. You and Mitch should get lots of treats and other goodies from Dad while Mom is away. Hehe. How nice that your mom will get to visit her mom and have some treats for her.

That bread looks absolutely delicious. I wish I could dive right into it. I love bread. That thing that your mom did with the recipe, trying to fit enough for two loaves into one pan, sounds like something that my mom would do. Hehe.

Take good care of your mole (no scratching) so that when your mom gets home you will have good news for her.
