Trust

Hi everyone! It' s me, Mitch!
Remember the celebration pawty that mom and dad had on Valentine's day. Mom left me loose in the house with Maggie for a long time that day and kept checking on me to make sure that everything was status quo!
I was an angel and didn't do anything wrong - not one thing! Mom felt that because I was such a good boy that I could be trusted the next time she went grocery shopping to be loose in the house with Maggie! I was good! Not a thing was out of place when mom returned!

The next week she went grocery shopping, she left me loose again and once again, I was a very good boy! Does my butt look big in this picture? Maggie says it looks HUGE!

Yesterday mom and dad left both of us again and this time they went shopping for a ceiling fan for the new guestroom and plug and switch receptacles and mom needed more trim paint! Both of us were as good as gold!

I can't remember the last time I was in my crate! It's been awhile now! Mom says I'm a big boy and I'm on my way! I have to keep being good so mom will keep trusting me! I like being loose in the house with Maggie when it's just us!

Did you all know that today is Joey's birthday? He is 10 years old today! Yup, the big 1-0! He and my sissy are both 10 now! Maggie has her special red hat society collar on to celebrate Joey's big day!

Hey, Joey! Dad took us to Glenwood tonight and we celebrated your special day with a smidge of mom's hamburger and a bite of dad's BLT and french fries with ketchup and then we headed to DQ and mom had a swirly cone ploped in a cup and Maggie got a HUGE bite of mom's cone - even the CHOCOLATE part because I told her that chocolate won't hurt you! Dad shared his Oreo Blizzard with me and I got a tiny bit of an oreo cookie!

Tomorrow we're having company for dindin and mom is making lazanne and we'll be celebrating Joey Palooza once again! We sure do love your special holiday, Joey! Pawtying with you is the best! Happy birthday, Joey!

So until next time...............

Love ya lots,

Mitch and Maggie

  6. Congrats on being so good, Mitch.

We roam freely -- but lately
"one of us" -- not to say who-- has been forgetting his manners and may have to have a refresher course.

Celebrating Joeypalooza is such a swell idea that Mom bought us some ice cream -- Edy's slow churned mint chip. Thank you Joey!!!!!

  7. Hi Mitch: (and Miss Maggie)

We are proud of you and very happy you are now allowed out of the crate when you and Maggie are in charge of the house. We are sure that you can be much more help that way. We had waffles for JoeyPalooza. Me and teka only get a little maple syrup and no sugar in ours.

  9. Great job, Mitch! You must be thrilled to be free in the house w/ Maggie when your parents are gone. My sister Sierra still has to be in the kennel when my parents leave the house. One day...she will be free like you.:)

  15. Mitchy, you're a big boy now! My crate has been folded up, under the couch for a couple years now (it takes up a lot of room in a one-bedroom apartment) and I heard Mommy offer to give it away to a friend with a new puppy. Guess we're all outgrowing our crates!

    Your pal,

    Petey

  16. You sure are a good boy Mitchy unlike some other that I know, not mentioning any names (Willow, Lucy & Tess), whoops hehehe.

Sounds like your Joey Palooza celebrations are coming along nicely.

  21. Mitchman!

You ARE da man, aren't you? I was waiting the whole time I was reading ~ just waiting for the other stuffie to drop and you told us you had destroyed something, but you really have been an angel! It's amazing freedom not having to be in a crate, isn't it?

By the way, YES your butt does look big in that one photo, but it looks GOOD too. I love trying to make my own booty look that big. (You've heard the song "Baby Got Back" - where it says "I like big butts and I cannot lie...")! They're talking about us, Mitch!

    Goober love,
    Stanley

  22. Hi, Maggie and Mitch -

Congratulations on being left alone without the crate, Mitch.

You guys are lucky to get a little chocolate. When Kaci comes to visit we don't give her chocolate and I never get any either. Of course, we are just puny little schnauzers, not Airedales like you.

Mitch, you may have a big butt in that picture but Kaci and I bet you're perfect in real life.

    Love -

    Hershey and Kaci

P.S. Mama has fallen behind on blogging.

  23. I hope you are really being good and not doing anything sneaky. Momma says she thought Grandpa Angus was being good and then she found out he was secretly shredding the carpet pad and replacing the carpet over it before she got home.

If you do have any urges, just blame it on Maggie.

  24. You are a big guy now Mitch and of course you can be trusted! Good job. I am afraid that we will never be able to trust my little brother in the house. If he sees it he puts his teeth on it!

There was no doubt in our minds that trusting you was the right thing to do. Say goodbye to your crate!!!

  27. Yup, it's good to be good if you get to stay out when the peeps are gone...

We're mostly good, every now and then we do something bad (like pee on the couch). But most times we are excellent.

  30. Good for you, Mitch! I get to stay out of my crate if my parents take Zeke somewhere, but if Zeke and I stay home alone, we both have to go in our crates because it'll make Zeke cry if he sees I'm out of my crate. But one day we'll both be out just like you.

    See ya!
    Joey

  39. Wow mitch! thats fantastic! Did you do things wrong before, and that's why you've not been out and about and free in the house? Sister is asking because she's thinking about Ben. He's only 9 months. And she is thinking about the day when he won't have to be crated when she leaves.
