Bloc de Foie Gras de Canard

Dad has been in Maine for the last few days and mom has been eating the craziest dindins as usual when he's gone!
One night she decided to have Sally's very generous gift to us - bloc de foie gras de canard! We have never had this before but a lot of you told us that it was like a liver pate and seeing as mom loves Liverwurst ( yes, she and gram are both weird like that) she knew that she would love it!
And guess what? We loved it too!Mitch has never gotten to snag food out of mom's mouth before but she let him give it a whirl! You did great, Mitch! Nice reward, huh?!
Mom gave Mitch a second chance at it. The first time it was celery and the second time, it was toast!Dindin was great, Sally! Thank you very, very much!

And for dessert~ Mitch's favorite!
Thanks for the apple slices, mom!
Before we go, we have to tell you about an awesome video we saw at Bug and Bandit's blog. You might want to grab a tissue first!

So until next time...........

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

  15. Half way through the post I was thinking, "if only Mitch could get some of that stuff on an apple." Then what do ya know? He got his apple for dessert. Mitch, you must have really enjoyed that meal! I'm just drooooling.

We've seen that video before. It's a heartbreaker until you see that all that sweet girl needed was some love. It was a tail-wagging ending which made us go from very sad to very happy.

  21. Ha, our Dad is away too and our Mom is the same way - she always tries different things then. We all love liverwurst or livergreat as we call it, so maybe we'd like that fancy foie gras de canard. Sounds intriguing.

We are off to check out that video.

  32. Allow me to speak to the wonders of Liverwurst and the brilliant taste buds of your Mom and Gram.
Last year when I was sick - on the bad days, the real bad days - the only thing I would eat was LIVERWURST. Momma says liverwurst saved my life - somedays it was the only way she got me to take my pills.
Thanks for stoppin by my blog and so very happy to hear bout your love of the liverwurst.

  33. We've been reading ... just not writing! A big CONGRATULATIONS on your amazingly good lab results, Maggie! Goes to show what's possible! We're so happy for all of you! And what a great way to achieve it ... with the pawsome foods you're getting to eat! Sounds like it's a win win situation!

We know you've done it, but be sure and thank your moma for all that special cooking and food preparation. Mmm mmm. You've made us hungry. And we know just where the apple are. (If we had liverwurst, we'd ask for that, but apples run a close second.)
