Our Trip to the Giant

Dad and mom suggested taking a hike up Sleeping Giant on Thursday morning! What a gorgeous morning it was! It was just 40 degrees and perfect temps for a fun adventure!

I couldn't wait to put my nose to the ground and sniff all of those wonderful smells!Mitch is high-steppin' it! Look at the smile on his face! He loves to hike as much as I do!
Mom was in her glory checking out all of the wild flowers in bloom! She just had to get a picture of these yellow violets! She wishes she had some of these at home in her garden!
We even found fresh spring water along the way and took a break!
Not long after our water break four huge deer crossed our path! Three of them went one way and the other one went in the other direction! The aire smelled very gamey so maybe these guys were up to more than just looking for breakie??!! Mom did get a picture of both of us trying to follow them but it came out so blurry that you wouldn't have even believed that it was us! My ears were stickin' straight up and I was up on two legs and rearing to go! No way were we going to catch them thought! Besides, we were leashed! Bummer!

We're approaching the castle!
This is a photo of two very happy Dales waiting for their cookie for making it to the top! Mitch has foam all over his lower lip! What a view! Mom is holding both of our leashes while dad does peepee! OOOPS! We weren't supposed to tell you that part! hehehe
We met some friends on the way down! Is that you, Petey?
What a fun time we had! Can we do this again real soon, mom and dad?!

So until next time..................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

  29. Our dad vaquely remembers the Sleeping giant mountain from roadtrips around New England when he was a little kid which was a long, long, long, long...etc...long time ago. So we had to do some research;

    Thanks for the part about reward cookies at the top, that restored our faith in y'all being food reward dogs. That's a very nice hiking park.
