The Princess Beds

Mom was doing my laundry yesterday and remarked that she sure had a full load and that it was all mine! The laundry consisted of sheets and blankets and covers from my many beds. A girl has to have her beauty rest, right? And I rarely sleep on the floor unless I'm hot and then the floor or the fireplace hearth feels really good but in the wintertime I really like my cushy warm spots. This is my bed in our family room. Yes, you do see a blue pillow. Inside that blue cover is a BIG white fleece bone and I decided one day that maybe that squeaker was annoying me so I started to work on it and remove it. The toy was only 2 days old and that nasty mom took it away from me and made this denim pillowcase so I couldn't remove the noisebox. She won! The bone still squeaks but I won too cause it's my very own special pillow. I gotta admit - I sleep soooo much better with my pillow!I also still have my crate set up in the kitchen. It's been there since my very first day with the family. When I was little the bedding was pretty sparce (you know how puppies can chew stuff up) but now that I'm older and wiser it's pretty comfy in there. That's the mailman beside me. He's one of those toys that I just can't destroy, although I have tried! My food dish and water dish hangs on the side of my crate and to us dogs, food is #1 on our list! So my crate is a very special place to me too. Mom removed the door a long time ago. She says she was sick and tired of banging her shins into it! If it's raining out and my feet get wet, lots of times I dry them off in this bed and then move on to another so that only one bed gets damp. Smart, huh! Mom snuck this pic of me when I was pretty groggy! Darn that camera!

This next photo is my bed in Dad's workshop. Dad and mom spend LOTS of time in the workshop in the wintertime. I've got oodles of toys out there to keep me busy. You also have to know that dad has a fireplace in his workshop and my bed is opposite that fireplace. Yup, I am a lucky Princess! You can see the side of dad's cabinetmaker's bench in this pic. That's flame birch and tiger maple on the side of that bench. Isn't it pretty?! And dad has cherry floors in his workshop. Only the best backdrop for this girl! And that's baby on my bed with me. You can see the surgery that mom did on him to fix him up so that I could have him back. Bless that mom.

And last but not least is my bed upstairs in mom and dad's bedroom. I've never slept with them -much too hot! I don't like to be hot! I want my own spot! Dad took this pic of me last night while I was sleeping. He was watching the football game and I was soooooo tired and I just wanted to go to sleep but dad just had to take this horribly embarrassing shot of me. What was he thinking? A girl has a right to her privacy!

So now you know the truth - I'm a spoiled girl with beds all over the place and I love every single one of them! And now for my nap...........

Later,

Maggie

  5. Hery Maggie,

You certainly are a lucky girl. But you certainly don't need any beauty sleep, you are gorgeous just as you are.

  7. Dear Maggie,

I am so happy you posted this post, because it puts my mum's mind to rest that she is not the only crazy mom out there!! And I'm happy to know I'm not the only one with a million beds throughout the house, that means I'm not spoiled since there are others like me!!

You're just like me, I don't like to sleep with mum either, first because she kicks, second, it gets way too hot. So I go and sleep on one of my beds. I also only sleep on the floor when I'm HOT!

    Love nibbles,
    Miss Sunshade
