We are joining Rosy this week and Nature Friday~~
Yesterday, was the last day that I'll be walking for awhile. The vet says 10-14 days for business walks only - not fun ones. Bummer - and I just got my new head collar so these pictures are from earlier this week.A beautiful tree in all its spring glory~
Once again, the not-too-smart Robins have decided to build their nest in the Rhododendron right outside our living room window. If the eggs make it, the baby robins don't. The same thing happens every year. Come on, robins - smarten up!
Today is my big boy surgery. Mom likes to be prepared so she has 2 cones for me.

This one is the NoarWin Inflatable with anti-licking shield. The shield does come off and then it's very similar to the Kong cone.
This one is the Comfy cone with stays inserted. Molly had one without stays. Mom isn't sure the stays are a great idea as it is more rigid with the stays. The stays can be removed and she has done that. I've never worn a cone before and I'm not sure that I'm going to like it. The worst part of this entire morning is that I can't have my breakfast!
Wish me luck!
Love ya lots♥
Duke
We wish you all the best with your surgery. It will be fine and easy compared to what girls have to go through. Nelson hasn't had "his surgery", not sure if he will one day or not as we don't see a need for it. Be a good boy and take it easy for those two weeks. After that you will have boundless energy to burn off.

ReplyDeleteLuck...!!! duly wished. You'll be fine, Duke. Oh dear, that Robin just doesn'l learn, eh? Maybe you can help and be guard dog for the nest? Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
Somehow, it feels like cone will be more of a nuisance than any post-op pain. We hope everything goes smoothly, Duke, and you're soon back to your normal routine.

Duke darlin' I hear you on the cone. Now if it only had some ice cream in it...sighing.
ReplyDeleteYou still struck a very handsome pose in spite of the cone. I'm glad you and mom are on this side of the surgery. Love you lots and sending healing hugs
Oh the daffie almost looks like it is wearing a cone too
Cecilia
Dear Duke, may you speedily heal and put this all behind you. On the bright side, I suspect there might be some extra treats while you recuperate.
ReplyDeleteYou found some beautiful nature to share with us, Duke. We have our paws crossed that all goes well for you today and in the days ahead.
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, sorry you have to go on the DL list! I hope the next two weeks just fly by!"
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "Your soft cone reminds us of Dennis's Atomic Cone of Shame, Duke. His lit up like that too when the light hit it. It was still a cone, but at least it was like a superhero cone!"
Not having breakfast is the worst!! We don't like cones, but the soft cone(with the stays) worked best for Sunny when she had all her surgeries.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be thinking about you Duke!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
I hope he doesn't have to wear the cone for long! Love the Spring flowers you've seen this week!
ReplyDeletePlease don't make it too challenging for your nice mom Duke - I'm pretty sure she'll make it up to you!

I'm late getting here as usual but I hope all went well with your surgery Dandy Duke. Gentle hugs coming your way.
ReplyDeleteWe too are late, and we hope all went well and you are home happy with Mom. Take it easy, pal, and heal well.

Hugs, Duke. I hope you aren't in too much discomfort. Thank you for the flowers. I’m actually very envious of you seeing Robin's nest every year, though I’m sad the little ones never made it. I wonder what happened.
