We are joining Sunny today for Nature Friday~~
It sure feels good to be out and about after two weeks of stuck inside. Mom took pictures of what was blooming in our yard while we were under house arrest. Landlady Maryanne's Ornamental Pear is flowering~Our Weeping Cherry is blooming~Our Magnolia was just getting started~Mom's pink Bleeding Heart had flowers~The latest news on Mrs Robin - she abandoned her nest. She laid her eggs and sat on them for a couple of days. Maybe it was the crows or the squirrel that scared her off? Could she know that the eggs would never hatch? The nest is still in place with the eggs untouched. Happy Friday, everyone!Love ya lots♥

ReplyDeleteAw those poor wee eggs... Not all mothers are natural to it, eh? I am so glad to see you out and about again, Duke, and finding all those lovely flowers! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
So glad you are back to normal. It seems like forever when you have to rest for so many days but once it is over, we forget all about that time! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful walkabout you had ... so many pretty things to see!
ReplyDeleteYou have such pretty flowers blooming all around you, Duke. Sorry to hear about the robin's nest. Hopefully they will be successful somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to see you out smelling the flowers Duke. There is so much beauty, we can't even pick a favorite! We feel bad for the Robin and her eggs...

The bleeding hearts are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo many awesome nature treats!
ReplyDeleteWe are surprised no one has come in to help themselves to the abandoned eggs -
we have a starling who has made a nest in the patio/porch roof - the patio is a mess from the things she's brought it to craft it - and we'll let all the twigs and more be until she moves on from the teeny tiny space she's made!

Glad all is well and you can roam as freely as you want....on the leash of course, BOL! Nice to see your spring is in full swing! Ms Robin hopefully will start a new nest soon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, Duke. Mom did not know that pachysandra produced flowers. That is sad about Mrs. Robin, but sometimes birds know best. We once had a canary lay eggs, only one of which hatched. Mom would not feed the baby and so our Mom used a dropper to feed the little one a formula given by the vet. In the end, once the baby was old enough to perch on the edge of the nest, it could not. Its claws were all gnarled together and he would never be able to perch. The mother bird knew and was just doing what she knew had to happen. Sad, but that's the way of life.

Dear Duke and Mom, I’m so glad your spring offers so much to see. I’ve never seen pink bleeding hearts, that's the loveliest color! Ornamental pear has such pretty flowers.
ReplyDeleteI’m very sad for Mrs. Robin though. 😢
Duke, you look wonderful with cheerful yellow!💛
Thanks for Nature Friday update,
Julia
Lulu: "Your flowers are so pretty, Duke! Thank you for sharing!"
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, we're sorry about the bird nest, though. Life is rough in the state of nature. Trust me, I know!"
Spring is definitely happening. Such a shame about the Robin's eggs but they do get spooked a lot. We are so glad you are back to health and enjoying your walks. We love the bleeding heart plant and tried to grow them in our garden but they did not like our soil. Hugs & Love, Susie & Coco xx
