Nature Friday

 We are joining Sunny today for Nature Friday~~

We have not been walking along the road since the snow fell and then it iced up.   With the rain and fog that we've had the last two days, our driveway is finally safe to walk on and drive on so these photos are before we had snow two weeks ago.

These puffer mushrooms are growing on the stump where the shag bark hickory once grew.   

Look what mom found at the base of our copper beech tree!   She definitely self-sowed! What a wonderful January surprise!

And today, the ice has all turned to water with the warmer temps and rain.

Nature Friday

 We are joining Rosy and Sunny this week for Nature Friday!!

We have ice, ice and more ice!  See that red arrow way down there?   That is the street at the end of our driveway.  Because we got a very small amount of snow and then sleet and rain on top of it, the driveway didn't get cleared so we're here until the ice thaws.

Without these ice cleats on mom's shoes............We wouldn't even be getting outside safely!

This is the area that got shoveled and then mom ran out of steam and the ice that melted on Wednesday (and it wasn't much) froze overnight.   

It's a slippery walk but I'm getting the hang of it.

Yes - I had to get a couple of rolls in☺

When you see me with angel Mitch's coat on, it means it's a cold day~

We did find beautiful blue Juniper berries in the back yard.

Trouble on a Tasty Thursday

 Mom discovered this morning that I had been licking not one but two of my front paws.   To be honest, she blew her cork and this happened.  

She made carrot muffins and she wondered if I would keep the hurt act going or if I would get involved and help her out.    I love carrots!

And who doesn't like applesauce?!

Breakfast in bed isn't so bad.

Maybe I can get used to this evil donut cone after all!

Terrific Tuesday

 Mom says it's not a terrific day but it is to me!   We had a small amount of snow overnight and it continued this morning and now it's sleeting and raining and the temps are mid-twenties.   

Peepee's had to be done and mom told me that I had to wear a coat and something on my head because I was going to get sleeted on if I didn't.   

Get this hat off me!!

The camera was getting wet and she told me "Let's get going, Molly!"

Yup, I was loving this weather!  

After 10 minutes, I had enough and wanted to head in.  

The furnace is on and my eyes are getting droopy.  Time for a nap~

Molly Monday

 It's a fun time for me when mom gets the treat machine out!  She used to fill it to the top with Corn Pops cereal for Maggie and Mitch and when she thought they'd had enough and that time was up, she'd put the treat machine back on top of the frig but she doesn't do that for me.  I'm more vocal  (and nasty) if she tries to take it away from me - even if the treat machine is empty. 

You push the bone arm down and out come the treats!

I think I'm down to crumbs, mom~

All gone, Molly!

I hope she doesn't wait so long to fill the treat machine for me again!

Nature Friday

 We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday~~

We have had a very wet week with way too much rain on top of the little bit of snow that we did have and it was just way too wet and soggy here.   Did we get to walk?  Nope - but the last time that we did get out, we found pretty berries.  

We found these puffy dried something or others~

We said "Hi" to Landlord Bob's duckies~

And we were fascinated by this blowing leaf even though, it wasn't even a windy day.

A Great Read

 This is the current book that mom is reading and she never wants it to end.  She found it on Ebay for four dollars.   She says it's so heart warming and so many times she's smiled through tears and she's also laughed out loud.    What a SuperGreat book and the best four bucks she's ever spent!

And she feels exactly the same way (you can bigify if you want to)

That's all fine and good, mom.   Now it's time to play Toss the Ball to Molly!

Molly Monday

 We got two inches of snow Saturday night into Sunday morning.   The weather peeps said to stay tuned for round two.   We were expecting between five and eight inches of snow that never happened.  Our accumulation was three to four inches at the most.  

Mom says that for me, it worked out for the best.   The temps here are 32 degrees F and the snow is a wet and heavy one.    She made me wear my boots to keep my feets warmer.  

She tried to engage me in play.   Jumping for my tennis ball is no longer allowed - not that I could do it anyway and certainly not in boots!

She says that the canine cognitive dysfunction has change me.    I was tripping and stumbling over my own feet most of the time and we were only outside about ten minutes before I was asking to go back inside.  

Landlord Bob decided that the arborvitaes needed pruning.   Really - in January?!

I hope the next snowfall is softer and a lighter weight.   Maybe it would be more fun for me.
