OMG, you'll never guess what? Wentworth's ice cream shop was CLOSED!!! I though Mitch and I were just going to curl up and DIE when we pulled into the parking lot and all the lights were off inside the building! Even mom and dad moaned in agony! Why would an ice cream shop be closed in the winter when it's 30 degrees out? What is wrong with these hoomans?!
But then dad came up with another plan! He suggested to us that we stop at Fran's Bakery and buy some ice cream and a yummy dessert and take it home! So that's what we did!
Dad bought homemade vanilla ice cream and APPLE *wink wink Mitch* crumb squares! Check this out! Are you drooling yet?!
How soon will my next surgery date be so that I can get treated like this again!
Maybe I need to check myself all over too, Maggie, to see if I have any booboos that require the surgeon's knife! I could sure get used to this in a hurry!
Thanks mom and dad! Wentworth's being closed wasn't all that bad after all!
So until next time................
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
Oh my doGness! How could they close an ice cream shop when it's 30 degrees outside? Have they no shame? They must have not known that there were 2 hungry pups on their way for ice cream! We're glad you made the best of it and got your ice cream anyway! And the apple dessert made it even better!
ReplyDeleteAire-hugs,
Poppy, Penny & Patches
Wow that looked delicious. I am so jealous, I am asking mom to get me some now. And I hope you do not need another booboo to get more treats like that. Being you should deserve a treat like that..tell your mom. hehe
ReplyDeleteWe gasped in horror when we read the first few lines of your posting.
ReplyDeleteWe had visions of no icecream being consumed in your household!!!!
Thank goodness Fran's Bakery was open and there was a happy ending.
Molly and Taffy
Oh wow, we thought it was going to be a disaster post but it's even better....cake and ice-cream.
ReplyDeleteTess & Lucy ate a bit of chocolate cake today. They theived it of course.....naughty gals!

The homemade ice cream and apple crumb squares sounds DEE-licious!!! You see, Maggie? The boo-boo treatment went well and now you're being treated like a queen - life is good! (And I think you look very pretty just the way you are.)
ReplyDeleteYour friend,
Joey
Fancy closing the ice cream parlours ours are still open here in germany but at least the yummy ckae and icecream made up for it.
ReplyDeleteLudo the cool dude
Yum. We wonder what kind of boo boos we have to have to get the folks to take us out for ice cream. It's certainly warm enough here to have it every single day. Such slackers they are.
ReplyDeleteGlad your doing so much better Maggie -- and congrats Mitch on the beard award.
We thought JH would enter -- but you know who was so busy with other stuff that she never got out the measuring tape. Agaiin, what a slacker!
Jake
Oh man ! May I have a slice ? BOL !
ReplyDeletethe cakey thing looked delish. But we hope your ice cream parlor is only closed for a little while.
ReplyDeletegussie
What a yummy treat for such lovely puppies!!
ReplyDeleteWuv,

Maggie, you gave me a shock when you mentioned next surgery. Are you sure you wanted another surgery? Talk to you mom and dad. A 10 years young girl like us deserve lots of love and pampering more so when we are healthy and is able to appreciate all the love we can receive. Agree?

Maggie, can you ask your Dad if he can have a talk with my Véronique ? He always has such great ideas....miam miam....
ReplyDeleteKisses, Faya
It is shocking that an ice cream parlor would be closed in winter. Dogs need ice cream all year round. I'm glad your dad had a smart idea and you got such a good treat.
ReplyDeleteYour friend,
Niamh
hi M&M, congrats on your beard awards. we know you are winners, but Mitch is a super hero! way to go, dude!!! we are especially proud of your mom for keeping your beards looking all nice and clean and soft looking.
ReplyDeletethat ice cream shop is crazy for closing in the middle of the winter. we don't understand that at all. it looks like you scored pretty good with the treats though, in spite of this hardship.
woofs.
Hi Guys!
ReplyDeleteI (Big Pupi) forgot to leave a comment about the auto-immune booboo~
Annual vaccinations can severely exacerbate or even cause auto-immune diseases. One way to get around that if you need to board or your folks aren't comfortable with skipping any vaccines, is to run titers. They can test for current immunity and determine if you actually need any boosters at all. Pupi and I get titers because our extensive allergy problems indicate immune issues, and we've tested positive for DHPP immunity and were able to skip all those shots. And our kennel accepts titers, as they're even BETTER for showing positive immunity than just giving a shot. The only boosters we get now are bordatella and rabies. The amazing thing is that some dogs test positive for immunity for YEARS after getting a single vaccine. It's a good way to prevent over-taxing that immune system and keep it in tip-top shape.
Supplementing with fish oil (tasty!), vitamins E & C and sea greens give the immune system a boost and aid in healing (the omega-3s in fish oil are anti-inflammatory and the GLA, minerals and vitamins in sea greens are super immune helpers). But I've also read somewhere that pizza crusts, apples and ice cream do wonders as well :)
Feel better!
Word out, yo.
Big Pupi
That does look very yummy. I'm glad you came up with a Plan B for that ice cream!

Drooly slobbers xx
Callie is back and she is still a monster. She wouldn't let us sleep late. She was milling around at 6:30. Doesn't she know that we herded sheep yesterday and we need our rest?
ReplyDeleteBig Sloppy Kisses
Gus, Louie and Callie
I hope your ice cream parlour re-opens soon. At least you've got somewhere in reserve now, just in case! J x
ReplyDeleteWhat better time for ice cream than when it is 30 below? Well, that apple stuff looks delish!
ReplyDeletewally t.
ps. Hmmm--you guys have some impressive beards and the Iggles are growing beards--wasn't your dad suspicious? :)
You guys are so lucky! The ice cream and apple dessert look scrumptious! My Mommy and Daddy think it's too cold for ice cream right now. I can't wait for summer to be here so we can all have ice cream!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Teddy Bear
We don't understand why ice cream places are sometimes closed in the winter either. Don't they know that their ice cream won't melt during the winter? Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteLooks like your dad was full of good ideas after you saw that Wentworth's was closed! Glad you all got your ice cream and some apple-licious goodness too!
Goober love,
Stanley
You are livin' the life my friend....YUM-O!!
