The Beard Challenge - Finals

Today is a most important day! It's January 2st, 2009, and it's time to measure those beards and log in our measurements for Stanley and Stella's beard growing competition in honor of Stanley's dearly departed buddy, Dovah Doo, who had one fabulous beard!

This is my beard on October 1st! It measured 4"!
And here I am today! My beard is 4 1/2" long, even after all the tugging and fancy treatments that I've been doing weekly! Mom shot this picture the day before my booboo surgery!
Mom was having a problem getting the above picture and she thought she'd outsmart me! See this tasty rawhide at 5 1/2" long!
Mom thought maybe if she measured my beard with the rawhide it would somehow maybe measure a bit longer! HUH??!! I'm not sure what she was thinking but this is the end result!Gosh, mom! What did you think was going to happen?! My beard is still 4 1/2"!

Here is Mitch on October 1st! His beard is 2 1/4"

And here he is again on November 1st! His beard measures 3"! It grew a whole 3/4"! His secret is the apple juice! There is hardly a day that goes by that Mitch does eat an apple! I guess it paid off, right!
Here is Mitch's final picture for the beard challenge! A grand total of 3 1/4"!

We can't wait to see pictures of everyone's beards! Measure them up and let Stanley and Stella know you're in! May the longest and dirtiest beards win! whooooooohoooooooooo

So until next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

  1. I think you're the winner Maggie. I'm going to have mine measured tomorrow. I think it shrunk lol.
You were asking about how tall the Wollemi will grow. Well there is one growing in the secret gorge that is 40 metres tall. It can survive temps as low as -12 C or 10.4 F.

  2. Wow! Both your beards are growing like no doggy's business!!! You could always straighten it with a straightener to make it look longer or you could always make it look a little bit nicer by braiding it. Hee!

  6. Maggie,

Even though yer beard didn't grow that much ya sure have a long one....even longer than Mitch who eats an apple a day...but then we thought that an apple a day just kept the doctor away.....good luck on the contest.

  26. If I were an Airdale I could win at this one! Ma says my beard is always too long and too dirty so she grooms me every now and then, but I don't think it helps much!

  29. Very impressive, Maggie! Mitch, too. Must be that salt air up there in New England. I can't grow a beard anywhere close to that.

Besides, all that math and measuring with rulers and rawhides just confuses me.

    Good luck in the competition.

  32. Maggsie & MitchMan!

Your beard measurements and the photos are duly noted and officially entered into the competition. LOVE the photos. Your mama is trying to be sly, but she can't pull anything over on YOU... not since that lemon incident.

Tell Mitch that he's definitely in the running too ~ for most improved beard! Those apples really must be doing the trick!

Can't wait to see who wins... but despite the contest you two are always winners in my book! (Cheesy, but true!)

    Goober love & smooches,
    Stanley
