Another Crump Barn Project Update

Our routine is to get up in the morning, eat breakie and next comes walkies and after walkies, it's time to get serious and head to the workshop to work on the Crump barn project!

We're the official supervisors!
The first thing we need to do is get the fire started!
It's cold in here, dad! I'll grab the firewood while you get the matches!
Dad not only timber frames but he's an artist when it comes to his barn projects.
This is one of the door posts that will be in the Crump barn. Those are hand carved pinwheels.
And the person carving these pinwheels is our Uncle Phil! Isn't he doing an awesome job?!
This is going to be one special barn!
Remember that tree brace that Autumn told you about?
It's all sculpted and has tenons on either end of it. Mom and dad have fit in into the hemlock tie beam and now they're working on fitting it into the vertical post.
We know it looks kind of funny because everything is upside down and still on the ground but this brace has to be hand fit as an individual before the bent goes up on raising day. Doesn't the tree brace looks like it's growing out of the vertical post?
That's not a bicycle at the top of the photo. It's a beam dolly. It helps mom and dad move these white oak timbers in and out of the workshop. These babies are heavy!

That has been our days' work!

So until next time..................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch
