Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
Remember I told you that mom will do just about anything to get out of knitting that sock she's been working on FOREVER?
For some reason, it just bores her to tears!
She had this great idea to make me a new hat and scarf! It sure works for me! She has this book called "The Complete Encyclopedia of Stitchery" and she found this pretty pattern in there. It has nice texture, don't you think? And she even put fringe on it!
We think the picture will biggify for you in case anyone would like the pattern.
And she made me a matching hat! I'm feeling pretty special! The color matches these beautiful roses that dad gave mom! No special occasion. Thanks, mom! I love my beautiful new gifts but now you have a problem.
The hat and scarf are all done. Will you go back to knitting that poor sock or come up with another plan?!
See you all next Wednesday!
Love, Autumn
What a lovely cap and scarf Autumn! Your mom is a talented knitter so I'm sure she'll pick up the sock again to finish the pair.
ReplyDeleteLove the roses...were they for a special occasion or just because?
the scarf and cap looks good on you Autumn and
ReplyDeleteyour dad is a keeper for buying roses for your mumster .....just because...

We looooove your new hat and scarf, Autumn! Now you can stay toasty warm! Beautiful roses too! Your mom is very lucky to have a husband who gives flowers when there isn't even a special occasion! Our dad used to do that too! Have a great Wednesday!

Autumn: We love your new accessories, they make your fur look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh, and we have a number of pending projects around here we would be glad to share with your mom...let's seee
There is the scarf that matches the coat she bought two years ago, there is the sweater she started for gussie in Virginia, there is the baby blanket for a (now) two year old child.
Dad says she just likes the idea of making gifts, but not enough to finish some of them.

Woof! Woof! Hi There I'm Sugar. LOVELY!!! Looking forward to your visit to my blog and being blog friends. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteMiss Autumn, you look lovely!
ReplyDeleteMaybe your momma should just ditch the sock idea if it's not fun? She is so talented, she should just move on and start something more exciting!!!
xoxo
I think you look absolutely stunning in that crimson combo Miss Autumn!
ReplyDeleteLooks toasty warm!
ReplyDeleteWe love your new scarf and hat. Our Mom is considering a lapghan using that pattern. She knows how your Mom feels about the socks - she made our Dad, our Granny and our Aunt socks for Christmas and didn't think she'd ever finish. Now she's making a scarf just for her!! Then she has 3 baby ponchos to make. But the socks are a good project to carry with you. She usually has one in a ziplock sandwich bag in her purse just in case she gets stuck somewhere.
ReplyDeleteXOXO

Autumn, I think your mom keeps you in grand style! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh Autumn...you look pawsitively bootiful in that new hat and scarf!!! I'm pretty sure there's going to be a Wheelie competition at the same time of Cruft's in the UK...I think it's gonna be called "Scruffs"...and that Eric is judgin' it...we heard Hector has been wonderin' if you were gonna enter...since ya didn't know about it, yet...we just wanted to let you think about it...and choose an outfit...details will be following, we're sure...
ReplyDeleteSo many things to look forward to!!!
Kisses dear girl...
Laciekhakes...
Love your new hat and scarf. I sympathize with your Mom. I have a couple of projects that I just will do anything to avoid.
ReplyDeleteYou've touched on some sore subjects. Knitting. (Moma just "took it up again") Socks. (She decided to make some yoga socks. Why? We don't know. We think she WANTS to start doing some yoga. One of those New Year's Resolutions or something.) And Unfinished Projects.
ReplyDeleteWe don't knit, so we don't know for sure. But we don't THINK the knitter is supposed to pull it all apart and mutter HBO words (Seems she doesn't know how to fix mistakes.)
What we DO know is: that crinkly yarn that she keeps pulling apart is sure fun to play with.
So. Do you think we should advise a scarf for one of the wheelies for starters????
Jake and Fergs xxoo
I love your scarf and hat! It's just adorable and you look fabulous!!
